Wow! I did not expect to like this that much. I needed to update my nails stuff because I had been using stuff my mom gave me years ago. Maybe I’ve never had a nice set but I absolutely LOVE the cuticle cutter. I feel like a pro nail tech using this thing. It gets the cuticles off and it’s soooo satisfying. Easy to use, too. Be careful though and don’t go too crazy - I definitely cut my skin because I got carried away lol. I love the nail file. It’s beautiful and works SO WELL. However I don’t quite understand the “fine” side of it. Idk if I’m missing something but I only see one side, and the rest is all the same texture? That would mean you can use the entire thing to “fine file” your nails. Idk but I love it! Haven’t used the nail clipper yet but it also seems high quality. First let me say that I love About Face. I LOVE their dermaplaning razors, which are so much better than any others that I've tried that I can't overstate their value. They are made in Japan using Japanese steel, so I was excited to purchase this set, especially the nail clippers. While I do think it's an excellent set and a very good bargain, I don't think it's as much of a quality triumph as the razors, and here's why: - I already own two pairs of higher-end Japanese nail clippers (toe and finger) that each cost three times the price of this entire set. Obviously with the difference in price point, you'd expect those to work a lot better than these, and they do. The About Face are definitely solid clippers, but there were two things I didn't really like: the pink plastic guard doesn't successfully catch clippings and it also blocks you from getting a precise, close cut (I like very short nails). I am honestly not super sure why it's there, and I threw mine away). I also found that on tougher/thicker nails, it struggled to get a precise, clean cut. It was okay, but not any better than the clippers you can get elsewhere. I did not deduct a star for that, however, because most clippers cost the same as this entire set, so this is still a tremendous value. Just don't expect top-of-the-line quality at this price point; I had my expectations too high due to the steel quality of the razors and I should have adjusted that accordingly due to price. - The cuticle pusher is AMAZING, truly -- probably the best I've had; however, the cutter works exceptionally well on pushed cuticles but not so much on hangnails. It obviously works best on damp, softened skin but I was able to successfully use it on dry skin as well. Just don't try to use it as a multi-tasking tool. For cuticle work you are going to love it. - I have Czech glass nail files which I swear by, and I have never had any other glass file I've tried come close. This however is a pretty close second. It's not as fine as the Czech files, but it's a great compromise in grit since it's one-sided. It filed my nails perfectly smooth and it did so very quickly. The other side is rounded for polishing/buffing, but if I had my way this would be dual-sided grit. I would keep this grit, which is awesome, but add a much finer one that buffs but still smooths the cut edge of the nail. But again, one of the Czech files is more than this entire set. Despite my minor nitpicks, for the price point I don't think you can beat this set. You are going to get way better than standard quality at much lower than standard pricing. It's a great set for most people and I highly recommend it. IF you have tough or thick nails, however, you might need more patience with the clippers to get a perfectly clean cut. Hope that helps! I’ll be honest and say I’m not someone who has any sort of nail routine. Before getting this set, I just had little basic clippers and one of those cheap nail files. And I never messed with my cuticles. Wow, I’ve definitely been missing out this entire time! The glass nail file feels gentle on my nails. When compared to a basic file, it feels very smooth and not scratchy at all. It smoothed up my nails really easily. The clippers are exceptional as well. Seeing how I’ve neglected my nails quite a bit, several nails have gotten extremely thick. With my basic clippers, it feels like a struggle like I’m going to break the actual clippers when trying to clip the thick nails. However, with these clippers, the sharp blade combined with the leverage of the clipper makes even the thickest nails feel as easy to clip as the thinner ones. I was really surprised at how easy it was to clip them! They did super well to not leave my nails really jagged like others have done. They were pretty rounded afterwards even before filing. The clipper also has a built-in nail catcher. I didn’t understand it to start with, (again I’m an amateur at this stuff) but if you simply tilt it back after clipping, the nail falls into the handle which is nice since it makes for easier clean up. I had to look into how to use the cuticle device so that I could comment on it. It definitely seems to work well, as far as I can tell. The pusher side is used to push the cuticle back and then the other side has a blade in it which easily cuts the excess skin from the cuticle itself. Since this works so well, maybe I’ll start giving more attention to my cuticles since I’ve heard it’s good for nail health. Speaking as someone who isn’t the best at nail stuff, I’d say this set is worth picking up. It’s very high quality for its price, and I honestly should have grabbed a set like this sooner! Read more

This set feels nicely made and honestly more premium than I expected. The nail clipper is sharp and cuts cleanly and the clip catcher is surprisingly handy for keeping things tidy. The cuticle tool has good grip and the two ends are useful, one for pushing back, one for cleaning up extra skin. The glass file has both a finer and coarser side and it smooths edges without shredding my nails. Everything rinses clean easily. For the quality and how often I’ll use it, it feels like good value for at home manicures. Read more

I absolutely loved this set. The nail clippers are very sharp (although I am not a fan of the nail catcher, it doesn’t take away from the quality of the nail clipper itself). The glass nail file is also great and does a fantastic job at filing your nails down without leaving those ragged edges a regular nail file would leave. This is a great set at a fantastic price.
