I am a big fan of all things in the red, burgendy or merlot realm. The description of the color knee highs I ordered said burgendy on the box. I would say dark red or dark cherry, but at any rate- they are so pretty. I am a ( curvy girl), 5"2, 155lbs, but luckily have small calves! I wear size 7, ordered 7, and they fit P e r f e c t l y. These won't work for larger calves, no way- because I put them on - as pictured- over my flannel p.j.'s - only because they arrived in a.m. on a Saturday morning - so I ripped open box, and popped them right on. The zippers work well and ( so far, around the house( they are VERY comfy. I will update if any problems occur. In the meantime - I will weather proof today, since it's November & the rain is coming. p.s - I read no claims that these are water proof, and hold little expectations, but it would be a pleasant surprise. These over the knee purple boots are exactly what I have been looking for since my old ones wore out. I ordered a size 10 I would have preferred a 9 1/2 but they didn’t offer that, and a 9 would have been too small. I usually wear a nine or a 9 1/2 shoe. Others had said that the boots were too slim in the calf for them to zip. I had no trouble whatsoever. I am not a slender person; I usually wear a size 14, am 5’ 4” and 175 pounds, but I do have relatively slim calves. My calves measure 15 1/4 inches in circumference. I have extra space and I think these will fit someone who has up to about a 16 1/2 inch calf. The color in the photo is pretty accurate. The boots I received were maybe ever so slightly a lighter shade of purple but perfectly acceptable. They don’t seem to have a great deal of arch support, but I will fix that with inserts. Since the size 10 is a little bit large for me, they should fit perfectly after that. Overall, I’m very pleased. I think I’m going to order a pair of the pink ones too. UPDATE: I did order the dusty pink ones. The color was spot on. I noticed that they were slightly slimmer in the calf than the purple ones. I could still zip them fine, but I don’t think they would work for anybody with thicker calves than mine especially if you want to tuck in your pants. Read more
