The media could not be loaded. For my money, alto is the best leather iPhone case maker on the market. The quality is there, the design acumen is there, the features are there, and the hand-feel (and nose-feel for fans of that genuine leather smell) is there. This is a great leather case, and if you like leather cases—and like the look of this (which is decidedly masculine, for better or for worse)—then just buy it. It’s priced pretty highly, but it’s a premium product from a premium brand. There are no better leather iPhone cases on the market than those made by alto. I have several, and they’re all excellent. The build here is really good. Materials are top-notch, the buttons are all covered and protected, and the fit is tight but not disconcertingly so (albeit taking the case off is a bit of an ordeal). Additionally, the kickstand feature is really well-done. Its tension is just right for supporting your iPhone at any angle (landscape only!), and it closes with a satisfying magnetic click. Even better, the camera cutout that the kickstand covers still accommodates full-sized plateau camera protectors with lots of room to spare. Most cases with camera-bump kickstands don’t accommodate those kinds of camera guards. I was really pleasantly surprised by this, frankly. MagSafe integration is also excellent, although the leather is a bit grippy. If you’re in the habit of rotating your iPhone between portrait and landscape while it’s mounted to a MagSafe charger or stand, expect some scuffing over time. Of course, it’s leather; you should probably expect some scuffing regardless. The case’s protection profile is good, but I’m not convinced that leather is as effective as the various typical phone case plastics when it comes to protection in general. Still, this is quite nice. The only real negative is the big price. But as such a well-conceived and well-executed niche product, I think it’s pretty much justified. It's hard to know what you're getting when you buy something described as leather. It's why there can be such a wide price range for two products that are described almost exactly the same. Not all leather products are beautiful products. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I removed this case from the box. My wife had just gotten her new iPhone 17 Pro Max, and was anxious to get it put into a case so that she could start using it. Her previous case had been black leather. And it had been a relatively expensive, beautifully-made case. She almost passed on upgrading her phone because she felt so sad at the idea of losing her case. This case allowed her to proverbially have her cake and eat it to. I know the photo I am attaching won't do it justice. She's been using it now for a few months, for one thing, so it is starting to get a little scuffed. (That's the great thing about good leather, though - it looks better and better as it gets worn in). But the leather is buttery soft. And where there needs to be stitching, the stitching is neat and tight. It almost looks completely seamless. It checks all the boxes, from a standpoint of functionality. The buttons are easily accessed. And when she ultimately drops it for the first time, I feel confident that the phone will be protected. I recently bought the iPhone 17 Pro and am searching for a new leather case. Since Apple stopped producing their leather cases, I am always on the lookout for a brand that can serve as a replacement. The Alto Italian-made leather case is a solid alternative. The first thing I noticed when I put the case on my phone was that everything aligned perfectly. All the buttons worked as expected, and even the camera button has a touch-sensitive cover that functions with the sliding features. The most distinctive feature of this case is the ring around the camera hole that swings open as a kickstand. Initially, I was doubtful about its usability or quality, but I was pleasantly surprised once I began using it. The kickstand magnetically closes, so it never accidentally opens. When I extend the kickstand, it has a sturdy hinge that keeps it in any position I place it. The kickstand is excellent for horizontal viewing, although vertical viewing is a bit unconventional. The only way to make your phone stand vertically is upside down, and not all apps will rotate 180°. Overall, I am satisfied with the case's quality. The leather feels very soft and is comfortable to hold. The buttons align and function as expected, including the camera button. The kickstand is of good quality, except for the limitation in vertical standing. At the current price of $60, I believe it is a great option if you're looking for a leather case. Read more
