The name itself, "Amarige" refers to marriage, and it is indeed named appropriately as it is romance in a bottle. It is extremely feminine and heady and has a sweet touch, but it does not resemble the monotonous gourmand sweet scents of today. It is a vintage fragrance that has stood the test of time. It is alluring, classy, and elegant, for the lady who appreciates more traditional perfumes that just wants to smell lovely and feminine. I am by no means a perfume expert, but I believe you cannot go wrong with Amarige by Givenchy. I have used Givenchy Amarige spray cologne for years. It blends well with my body chemistry; it is not heavy, sickening sweet or fruity or flowery. It is a very subtle fragrance & the price reflects the quality. I think the closest I can come to a comparison scent in nature, would be a gardenia, but not nearly as strong. It gives off just a bare hint and ever so subtle scent. This fragrance may not react the same for everyone. I am just explaining how it reacts to my body chemistry. I use just a very brief and light touch spray behind each ear in the morning after a shower and that's it. Nothing more needed. Each application lasts 24+ hours. Be careful of imitations because they are out there and look very similar to the real thing. You can usually tell the fakes by the depth of color in the liquid & the packaging. Amarige by Givenchy is a stunning classic floral – the scent is really good and luxurious! It opens with juicy peach, plum, and bright orange blossom/neroli for a sweet, fresh burst, then blooms into a rich heart of tuberose, gardenia, mimosa, and jasmine, drying down to a warm base of sandalwood, amber, vanilla, and musk. It’s romantic, glamorous, and super feminine. The bottle is beautiful with its frosted swirl cap and gold details. I love how bold and joyful it feels – perfect for special occasions or feeling confident. It’s very intense and powerful at first (strong projection, might be overwhelming for some), but after a while it softens beautifully and becomes more comfortable, while still lasting all day with just a couple of sprays.
