Amazon Basics 5-Blade Razor Handle for Women Includes 12 Cartridges and Shower Hanger 14 Piece Set Blue

I actually got on Amazon to order some of my usual razor blade cartridges and happened to run across this deal. Since the price of this (a razor, a holder, and 12 extra cartridges) was better than 4 of my normal cartridges, I thought I would give it a try, if I didn’t like it I could always go back to my old kind. Plus this one has 5 blades and my previous one has 4. I’m always skeptical bc I have somewhat course hair and usually men’s razors feel better on my legs. To my surprise, I am extremely pleased with the results of this razor! It may be my imagination but it seems a little wider, like it achieves the job faster. Also I didn’t have to shave over the same spot two or three times to get it smooth. No nicks at all, it glides right over every curve and angle with precision. The gel strip on it left my legs feeling smooth and silky. So I had to buy my daughter one to try and she loves it just as much as I do. Definitely a great value for the money. The holder hasn’t fallen off the wall yet which is unusual considering all the other ones I’ve had constantly fell off. The do have a set with a razor, a holder, and one extra cartridge if you don’t buy 12 without knowing how you will like it, but I honestly don’t see how anyone wouldn’t love it. Really amazing value! I do wish it came with two handles, just because I lose things easily, and it would be great to have a second one on hand. Also, admittedly, the little rubber shower holder that’s supposed to stick to the tile does not work very well. However, that’s kind of beside the point. I have been on the hunt for a good razor for what feels like years. I had a go-to razor I used all throughout my teens and early 20s, but the price went up and the quality went down and I felt like I was starting over at square one all over again I think I have probably tried over 20 different razors from different brands including monthly subscription boxes. I tried all the creams on the market as well. Nothing worked for my sensitive skin. Razors would cut or scrape me, the creams would give me chemical burns. I was starting to feel so, so desperate for something that would work well for my skin. I've been eyeing these razors for a long while now, but never bit the bullet until today. I finally decided to give these a try and I am so, so happy I did! Now on to the razor itself! I'll start with the downside. It's difficult to put on a new razor blade to the handle. I had put it up on my shower wall with the holder it came with and this is probably user error and not the brand itself, but it fell off the wall about an hour into hanging there, and the blade popped off. I decided to toss it and put a fresh one on seeing as how you're meant to put it on the handle while its still inside it's plastic case. This part took forever to figure out and again, this may be user error, but I've had similar razors and they always click right on. Maybe it'll just take some getting used to. Now the plus side, I have never been able to shave like the girls in the commercials who go up their whole leg in singular swipes. I always get freaked out going over sensitive bits and work in sections that take forever. With this razor, I could go up in singular swipes. No nicks whatsoever, and using the handle, I felt safe. I didn't feel anxious about nicks or scrapes like I have been with other razors. It felt good to use, and I felt safe using it. Having tried so many others on the market, accidents were bound to happen and I have been so anxious of cutting myself ever since. But this razor felt safe to me. It's hard to describe, but I didn't feel anxious using it. This would be an excellent razor for anyone just starting out shaving, or who have trouble navigating other razors. With past razors, I'd shave, get nicks, get bumps, and within hours, have prickly hair again. Not with this razor. My legs felt so smooth immediately after, and even still. I've kept an eye out for prickles or bumps, but nothing. It feels as smooth and soft as my legs did after using the creams, but without the chemical burns which is exactly what I've searched high and low for. This is an excellent razor, and you really, really can't beat the price. It's comfortable, safe to use, and my legs feel healthy and smooth. If you have sensitive skin, or are just starting out shaving, or just really, really want a dang good razor, this is the one. Read more

These is a really good value. The handle feels sturdy, the blades shave smoothly, and the included shower hanger is convenient. For the price, it performs just as well as some of the more expensive brands I’ve tried. My only real disappointment is that the replacement cartridges aren’t always available, which makes it frustrating when you want to stick with the same razor system. When the blades are in stock, they’re affordable and work great—there just needs to be more consistent availability. Overall, a solid razor for the quality and price, but the replacement blade issue keeps it from being perfect. Read more

I was honestly surprised at how well this razor performs. I used it with shaving cream, and the shave was noticeably smooth and painless. I used to use the Venus Comfortglide White Tea (pink) razor, which is good but sometimes felt a bit harsh. Later I realized that one has only 3 blades, whereas this Amazon Basics razor has 5. Maybe that’s why this one feels much gentler and smoother on my skin. I was initially skeptical about trying a beauty product from Amazon Basics, but this razor completely changed my impression—it’s really impressive for the price. One downside is the shower hanger. It attaches with suction instead of adhesive tape, so it tends to fall off the wall easily. I’ve decided to just live with it. The moisture strip is on the smaller side, but since I use shaving cream anyway, that doesn’t bother me. If you prefer to shave without shaving cream, though, you may want something like the Venus Comfortglide with a larger built-in moisture bar. I did notice some reviews saying the blades can detach easily, and I agree to some extent. Compared to Gillette, the blade attachment doesn’t feel quite as sturdy.
