It's not going to be this remedy for a lack of a high quality HDMI or Displayport cable on their own, but if you needed something because a device you own has a faulty HDMI port but displayport works fine, then this would be for you. Long story short: there are two types of DisplayPort -> HDMI adapters: active and passive. Passive adapters are cheap, usually work great and will get you up to 1080p. Active adapters are expensive, work with anything, and can get you up to 4k and beyond. If you are plugging in a 4K screen, skip the cheap adapter and grab this one.
