I remember having the trapper keeper growing up as a kid. So, when I saw this, I knew that I had to get it for my grandson. He loves the amount of stuff that he can fit into it and does not have to carry around so many binders. The year is almost half gone, and he has not come to me for another one I and surprised with the quality and durability of this item. My son needed eight 3-ring binders for middle school. Heck, no! We got this instead. It holds all the materials for eight classes: folders, dividers, 3-ring paper, music books, even a mesh pouch for his headphones! There is an expanding file system in there, which is perfection for holding sheet music, his planner, regular notebooks and important forms. We also ordered a plastic pouch for his pencils, pens, compass, etc that hooks to the O-rings. What I love about this binder is that the folder edges don't catch in the zipper. They fit inside. It has a nice shoulder strap, which my son doesn't use, because he uses the small handle on the side. We ordered three different brands of binders and this was by far the best. The one he started with 3 months ago (the most popular brand of binder) had a broken zipper within a month and the folder edges caught when trying to zip it up. I know this won't happen with this behemoth because it's STURDY. Mind you, this monster is really thick (4" to be exact), and may be too large for your purpose. But for a middle schooler who doesn't want to deal with multiple 3-ring binders, this baby rocks! This binder also eliminates multiple trips to his locker. Well made. Wish the inside measurements were more true to size. The inserts I bought separately for DVDs are true to size advertised but even though they are 1.5 inches smaller in length, width, and height, the folder is just a smidge too small. But I can make it work. Read more

This has held up to months of daily use by a 13yo. It is easy to use. It is rugged, not thin and chincey. The binding between the rings are tight but easy to open. It fits all his work and has plenty of storage. It is well worth the money and he has got his use out of it and I expect to last him another school year. Read more

If I could rate this higher I would because I LOVE this product. This binder lasted me 2 years of constant use. It was very heavy duty. The only reason I retired it was because the zipper for the main part broke, and the stitches on the inside were slowly coming apart. Other than that it lasted a long time. While I was using it, it held a lot of stuff to the point it weighed 5 pounds and STILL stayed intact with it being tossed around. VERY heavy duty. The shoulder strap was also super comfortable and never bunched up. Well.. It was honestly as comfortable as it could get while carrying 5 pounds, but it never poked into my shoulder or anything. And the length was perfect for what I needed, not too long or short unlike the other brands I've tried. I've tried other brands that are more expensive than this, but they just didn't work as well, specifically because they weren't as heavy duty. You can tell just by looking at this binder that it'll last a while. If I ever need a binder again, I'm buying from here. Read more
