I have a name brand triple blade razor that I use for the majority of my face, but often used a disposable razor to clean up some hard to reach areas on the face that are easier with a single or double razor. Unfortunately for that use, the Amazon Basics razors don’t seem to work as well as the cheap disposable ones you can get from the drug store. I’m not sure if it’s the blade positioning, but it’s just as bad as my triple blade razor in reaching the tougher spots like right under the nose. I’m also not a fan of the built in moisturizer which can make things messier than they need to be. All of that being said, as a standard razor that you might use while traveling as this is likely intended for many other people, it does a respectable job. I long ago determined that razors with three, four or five blades were an overpriced waste of money. They worked no better on my beard than a two-blade model. So for years I have been using Gillette Sensor2 razors, which worked fine and were relatively inexpensive. Then, suddenly a year or so ago, the Sensor2’s design changed. No longer did the head pivot — it was fixed. In addition, something was different about the placement of the blades — it became more difficult for me to shave my upper lip. They were awful! Then I noticed Amazon Basics’ twin-blade model DID pivot to follow the face. What’s more, they cost a fraction of what the Gillette Sensor2s do: 20 cents each (in a bag of 32) as opposed to 83 cents each (in a bag of 18)! Wow! But are Amazon’s any good? They are, in fact, terrific! The shave is much better than Gillette’s. The razor handles my upper lip perfectly. And each razor lasts for at least seven shaves, maybe more (still working on my first after a week). And they are incredibly affordable. What I can’t understand is why Gillette offers so much worse performance for so much more money. Read more
I've purchased several Amazon Basics products over the years and found them to be quite good, but these razors are the exception. They are cheaply made and feel terrible in the hand, hard to grip because of the minimalistic handle. I have to hold these with my finger tips rather than my whole hand because the handles are so small which results in an unsteady shave. The blades don't cut well, rust quickly and feel rough on my face. I'm much more likely to cut myself shaving with these than name other disposables I've used. Like many people these days I work form home so don't shave every day. When I'm shaving after 2-3 days growth these razors take many swipes to remove all hairs while a name brand razor will only take 1 swipe. The only thing I can say to support them is that they're very inexpensive, but even at such a low price they're not a good value and I won't buy them again. Read more
These are probably the least expensive disposable razors I have ever bought or used, and they are probably tied with one other for being not that great. My facial hair is thin and soft, so the first shave goes ok, but the second use is fairly uncomfortable, lots of drag, and I have to be careful to avoid knicks and cuts. So these are a two-shave maximum for me, but only if I shave every two or three days. Don't want the beard to get longer than that. A true disposable! Read more
