I was fortunate to have a concrete base to serve as good foundation for the Ambient Weather EZ-NPP Tripod and Mast Assembly and Platform, but I believe it would have worked well on any stable ground or rock surface. The hardware and equipment that came with the purchase was and is still sturdy, even after a year and a half of use to date. Even though I made it a ground-based installation with concrete blocks as ballast, it would also work on an elevated platform. Ambient Weather also suggested good information in their instructions and support for placement and grounding of the platform (in the event of lightning strikes). The Ambient Weather Support Team also answered some of my questions regarding the platform. The only caveats about the platform were 1) the printed instructions had photographs of lower resolution and quality that made it difficult to determine if I had properly assembled the equipment per the instructions, and 2) there should be a bolt or other reinforcement in the pole extensions from the base, mainly to reduce to the potential for wobble or leveling purposes. Some instrumentation, such as a rain gauge, mounted on the pole requires a level platform. Eliminating even the smallest wobble in the mast extensions is preferable. With that said, the platform has been a good fit for the weather station and a decent value for the money. Read more

It was easy enough to set up even though the instructions have diagrams that don't show enough detail or don't shot the actual product. A tiny bit of trial and error and it was good to go. I did have to hammer out the tabs from the holes in the mast since they were not punched through and the bolt could not be inserted. Overall it is square and sturdy and I'm confident it will hold my weather station for many years through all sorts of weather. Read more

The instruction paper is poorly written, so make sure to read and reread or else you'll spend 3 hours trying to figure out the correct method. However, once assembled it works great! Read more

Instructions are horrible. Have to pay eagle eyes attention to them, bit I still had to redo it. Otherwise a solid setup and we really like it! Read more

The EZ-NPP Provides an exceptional mount for the Ambient Weather WS2902C Osprey weather station. Its easy to assemble and rock solid even with wind gusts of 40 MPH. I used two EZ-125-35M mast extensions on top of the manufacturers provided mast and the weather station still remained level and relatively stationary. My mounting challenges were solved! Read more

The stand was easy to assemble and is quite sturdy. There have been a couple storms since it was put up; no shaking from the wind (30MPH). We got the extensions and they're similarly sturdy. Worth it! Read more

Didn't want to mount my Ambient Weather station to the roof or fence and found this solution on Amazon. Assembly instructions were a little sketchy but was able to figure it out easily enough. The only problem was attaching the base of the mast to the frame. The pre-drilled holes through the mast for the bolt had leftover metal tabs clinging to the holes. I had bend them out of the way using a screwdriver and hammer before the bolt could cleanly pass through the holes. With the weather station attached the stand is easy to lift and relocate. Though the instructions recommend cinder blocks be added to the base to prevent overturning (and as an engineer I understand), it would require a substantial force to overturn the stand without the blocks. Not likely where I live. The mast is about six feet tall, making it easy to replace the station's batteries when necessary. Quite happy with the stand. Read more

I bought this to mount a Lacrosse View weatherstation. The package arrived as scheduled and it assembled fairly easily, but the pole was too large around to fit in the base of the weatherstation. I ground the top 2 inches of the pole down 0.3 inches and had the fit I needed. It has been up in my backyard for 1 month now and has been sturdy (with 4 bricks on the base). Read more
