I was concerned the Medium may be too large and bulky, but it's not at all! I live in Florida where I need an umbrella in case it rains, a visor for sun protection, and a sweater in case a store or restaurant is too cool. I have an Ameribag in the small size, which fit everything in, but not without a struggle to zip it all up. My new one is just a little bit bigger, but fits everything in easily! My old one is microfiber which is not supposed to be washable. I love that I will be able to wash this one in the washing machine; that is a great feature! I would not buy any other pocketbook but the Ameribag; it is relatively light (good for my touchy bad back), has all the fabulous little places to put things in, and is attractive. I love the AmeriBag Healthy Back Bags, and have gotten some compliments from others about them. I own three, but this particular one (medium size, distressed nylon) was purchased to take as my personal bag on a flight. Like all Healthy Back Bags, they are easy to carry as they take the load off your shoulder and don't slip off so you're not constantly readjusting. This one held a LOT of stuff in an organized fashion, as there's plenty of pockets to stow your little stuff, plus a huge area for your wallet and whatever, like a book, pair of flip-flops, snacks, bottle of water, you name it. I chose distressed nylon for this bag, because supposedly you can wash it, unlike the microfiber bags, which don't clean well at all, IMO. This is a great bag for traveling. For everyday, the small size may be more suitable, depending on how much you lug around with you! My only criticism of these bags is that I usually have to remove them from my shoulder to get what I want out of the main compartment, unlike most other shoulder bags I've purchased. Perfect bag! I had actually ordered a different tote now that I have to carry my iPad for work everyday, but it was way to big and cumbersome. This size fits the iPad nicely in it's own padded sleeve, plus has a pocket to organize literally everything else. At any given time, I have my iPad, an A5 size notebook, large checkbook/wallet, glasses, keys, a reusable shopping bag, lipstick, hand sanitizer, many pens, hand lotion, and a bunch more stuff in this thing. There is literally a place for everything. I can find what I need quickly. I love that there's a little clip for my keys- I hate digging through everything to find them at the very bottom of my bag! It does still feel pretty heavy with all that in it- it can't defy gravity after all, but when worn cross-body, it distributes the weight nicely and you really do hardly notice! I like that you can just machine wash this material too. It seems very sturdy and should be with me a long time. I actually ordered a size small if this same bag very quickly after this one came, to use more as just a general handbag. Also great, smaller, obviously, but still tons of room for everything I need minus the iPad and notebook. Great bags. This bag is perfect for travel! The medium holds everything I need without being too bulky or heavy. Two things would qualify as a no hitter: add a loop at the top of the bag strap for attaching things or hanging on a hook AND make the outside waterbottle sleeve deeper. This is my second Ameribag, of distressed nylon. My first was the small size which is by no means Small! - I have stuffed it to the gills and have no trouble finding items due to the great interior pockets, some with zippers as well as the outer pockets - with zipped and/or velcro closures. Because I now own an IPAD with a nice case around it - and with airline restrictions on the number of carry on bags one have travel with - I wanted my "personal" item to hold all my expensive electronic gadgets including the IPAD plus the other usual items. Note: the IPAD also fits in the SMALL size Ameribag, but I wanted even more room. The Medium size is excellent for these purposes, with an additional 2" in height and 2" in width over the small size. I prefer the "distressed" nylon bag, as I live in Florida and want a cool fabric, when I travel either on road trips or via airlines. Note that this bag will hold the following items easily: IPAD, cell phone, camera, GPS, Flip Video, IPOD, plus small umbrella, rolled up "shawl" (to keep me cozy on a plane)plus large wallet, keys, snacks, a bottle of water (purchased once I go through security of course!), cosmetics, meds. Easy to find all these items due to huge interior space and the many separate pockets. The non-slip strap is great and is also adjustable allowing for wearing bag across your back still with ease of getting into main zippered compartment, or on shoulder. Keeps thieves away from zipper by wearing zipper placed against your body. Distributes weight well to prevent achy back. Just want to note that some reviewers said they wished instead of the velcro closings on two of the 3 large outer compartments, that they were all zippered. Let me tell you that the velcro is so "sticky" that you won't have a problem worrying that something might fall out or get nabbed. You really need to pull on the velcro sections to open them. I usually keep my passport in one of those velcro-ed areas. You will love this bag when traveling by plane, as you'll have all those $$$ items at hand and not in your checked luggage. Read more
