I donβt know the science behind this - all I know is that it works somehow. Better than aloe vera (which I actually rarely find effective). Better than just lotions containing ceramides (although it does help when layered atop this to help with absorption). Better than oils (which sometimes are more irritating than soothing). Itβs versatile - Iβve used this for severe sunburns, small scratches, laser facials that left my skin so so itchy and red and irritated. All other stuff is hit or miss or sometimes makes things worse. This consistently helps with calming itch & irritation and also healing time. Read more

I've been using this brand of silver gel for over 30 years. Always have a tube when traveling overseas as well. Heals and disinfects cuts, scrapes so fast. Peace of mind, never had an infection either in all of these years. Can't recommend enough. Read more

I like this gel & I do think it speeds healing time of adult hormonal acne. I don't suffer from anything severe, but I'm an esthetician & clients expect their skincare specialists 2 have perfect skin (cut us a break, we're human w/ hormones too! Lol) I use tretinoin, the genetic form of Retin-A every night & it is great not only 4 cell turnover & preventing clogged pores & acne, but lines & wrinkles also. I'm 33 w/ basically none. However, you need 2 stop the retinoids before using acids or other acne products for at least a few days or it can just be too much. I like 2 have a daytime antibacterial & anti-inflammatory on under makeup & the sun makes retinoids ineffective (if u see them in a day cream, don't water your $, it's just marketing) i had read about colloidal silver & wanted 2 try 1. I really believe adding this to post inflammatory redness & marking has helped 2 clear it faster, even than the Vit C i always use or at least in addition to. It's found a lot of uses beyond what I bought it for also. My slight keratosis pilaris on my legs, i use Amalactin or another exfoliant & that controls it along w/ lots of moisture, but u can still get red spots (as anyone w/ kp "chicken skin" knows) the red dots are basically gone, my legs are so even tones & clear. I've also used it on brusing, but i believe that is not 1 of it's strong suits. It just can't penetrate 2 make a difference there. However, on my Dad's ezcema & psoriasis, i believe it has toned down redness & swelling. When u add this 2 an area affected by plaque psorisis, be sure u are cleansing the area 1-2xs a day thoroughly, don't make yourself bleed, but the product works best if it can penetrate into already moist skin & it will create a hard, scaling over the lesion if u just add more & more over itself. Back 2 acne, because this can be used in combo w/ other acne products w/ no issue, i like 2 apply my nighttime skin routine & then dap a bit of this over any spots as a last step. I don't rub it in, & leave it overnight. Rednesz is always less in the morn. If nothing else, it will prevent your acne products from drying your skin & leaving a spot flaky & icky. Now, the reason there is 4 stars & not 5. It contains TEA (& I'm not talking about the green kind) this is Triethanolamine. Used in skin care to help a product mesh together, as in oil & water, as an emulsifier. Though there is not really a need for it here; the carbomer will keep the silver ppm & deionized water suspended together for application. TEA also has a use as a pH adjustor, which i assume is more it's function here as skin's pH ranges from 4.5-5.5 & products can penetrate & ne more effective closer to that range (though there are many others on the market also). My issue stems from it's parents. Derived from ethylene oxide (considered highly toxic) with ammonia (another known toxin), there are enough non-toxic ph adjustors that another could be chosen. While TEA has been deemed "safe" for use in skincare & even to assist in the chemical peeling of foods like tomatoes or oranges, we've seen almost no regulate of the skincare market by the FDA in the US & other "non-toxic" additives have caused severe allergic reactions, breakouts & sensitivites in the past. In fact, the US Cosmetic Ingredient Review has investigated this ingredient multiple times with their current ruling of suggested use being : that it should be "discontinuous"(not constant), "brief use followed by thorough rinsing from the surface of the skin". Now, I did not follow this thoroughly by leaving it on overnight & it did not irritate my skin or cause a reaction & it make be the ingredient is found in small enough quantities that most would never experience an issue. However, I wanted 2 leave it in a comment. I got into skincare to make people aware of what they were using on their skin & how it needed 2 be taken care of, & i feel like i needed 2 mention this here. I took a chance 2 try it as I often do w/ new products to use myself as the guinea pig r clients info, & this worked well & I'm glad i tried it, just be aware if u are using this on children, especially babies, that it's there & it def cannot be ingested, so do not use it on small children if they will put that area in their mouth. God luck! Read more

I first got this to put on a burn to see if it would help any. I heard that silver helps things heal better. I can say this, putting it on the burn did dramatically reduce the scarring where the burn was. It also made the burn area feel better too. Granted, it is a burn, one bad enough that it blistered up over about a 1 1/2" long area, so there is not really anything that will make it feel good, but it had, I guess you could say, a cooling effect, that as long as I did not hit it, It made it kind of, unnoticeable that it was there. until i bumped it that is. The mark left was just a little darker then my normal skin tone, and is not very noticeable. Here are some other things that I can say about it. First, it has the consistency of KY jelly (or just a little thinner then toothpaste), not really thick, but not really runny either. It is easy to use and apply. It does not take a long time to absorb into your skin either.. maybe a couple minutes.. and leaves no greasy feel afterwards either. I got some mosquito bites, and put some of this stuff on them, and the mosquito bites stopped itching almost instantly. I looked the next morning, and there were no marks left from the mosquito bites either. I could not tell I was ever bitten. I gave some to bob because of the same thing, and he had the same results from the mosquito bites too. In that aspect, this stuff is great for camping. to be honest, I can not really say as to if it speed-ed up any healing of the burn or not. I think it may have, but not 100% sure. To tell for sure, i would have to compare it, and I am not really willing to burn or cut both or my arms to compare it and find out. I have only had it a short time, maybe a couple weeks, so i have not used this stuff for any real length of time to say what this stuff will help with, or not. That, i guess, i will find out over time. but so far, I do like it. I just wish it was cheaper. Read more
