We love these night lights, because they are appropriately dim. We've purchased many. Thanks to the many reviewers who noted their dimness! We have purchased so many other brands of night lights over the years, and they are all way too bright, and are now all stored in a big shoe box. I read other reviews that mentioned you couldn’t tell “bright” from dim and that overall the light was VERY dim. That is all true. My item arrived a couple of days ago. Those reviewers were right on all counts: it’s dim...there is NO “lighter,” there’s not even dim, dimmer, dimmest....it’s just plain dim. The slider switch moves freely and makes zero change in the brightness; I tested it in a dark room. I needed a dim light but this is no brighter than the little 1” button-style glow lights I was replacing. The only difference between them and this is that this is “white” and they are “yellow-orange”. The little nightlight bulbs that also look like small Christmas lights are WAY brighter and are too bright for my needs. But this is too dim for the purpose. Read more

We needed to light the pathway to the bathroom at night - but every light we tried was "too bright," according to my better half. We even tried various combinations of MacGyvering standard nightlights with tape, filter, etc. No good. After reading the reviews, we tried this one...and the result was outstanding. Even though the light is mounted on a wall at about eye level, the output is just bright enough to light the way but not disturb anyone's sleep. :-) As others have posted, the "dimmer" on this light does almost nothing. But you really wouldn't want it much dimmer, anyway. Color us satisfied with the "barely there" lighting. Read more

It's ok - the light is not glaring, but the difference between the brightest and dimmest settings is very subtle. It almost makes no difference. I was hoping for a much dimmer night light, and even on the dimmest setting I think it is too bright. But depending on your needs, it might be perfect. Read more

We have this light in our bathroom where we wanted something bright enough to get our bearings in the middle of the night, but not enough to bolt us awake. It's perfect. If it were any dimmer it wouldn't be useful. We'd give it five stars, but the dimmer seems unnecessary. It really doesn't change the light level. Read more

As a mom, I have to make sure I can get to the door and to my kid's room at night without much delay if there is an issue, due to this, I do like having a nightlight near the door so I don't have to turn on annoying lights. I had tried other nightlights and they were just way too bright, so much so, I had started using duct tape to dim them (which isn't overly attractive) . I found this light and it is absolutely perfect. It is dim to the point where it won't wake me at night, yet, bright enough for me to see the door without any issue. Read more
