Good quality, the best jawline contour brush I've ever used.
Impressions: -This is a very good quality, soft synthetic bristle, contour brush in a unique crescent shape that works well for a natural, diffused application of contour powders, creams or liquids. Pros: -Very high quality brush. It looks, feels and performs like a high end brush. -Very soft and dense bristles. -Uniquely shaped in a crescent shape. I’ve never seen or used a brush in this shape before. It works well on all the normal contour areas, but it especially works well on the jawline for contour. -Made for contour product application on the cheek, forehead, nose and jawline. -It could also work well for bronzer application, especially on the forehead near the hairline. -It would also work well for under eye setting powder application due to the size and crescent shape fitting the under-eye area well. -Sturdy brush handle and ferrule. -Good feel in the hand during use, easy to hold. -Would fit in a brush roll (not included) as the handle isn’t too large to fit. -Attractive dark purple toned handle with a silver band with the logo. -Has the name of the brush and brush style printed subtly but nicely on the brush. -Can be used with powders, creams and liquids. -Synthetic bristles are vegan and cruelty free. -Has no odor or scent to it. Cons: -No issues. Tips: -The brush would also work well for bronzer application as well, especially on the forehead area. -The shape and size fits the under-eye area very well and would work well for under-eye setting powder. -I did find that holding the brush in different angles did give a slightly different result. Using it on the cheek for contour with the width of the brush across the width of my cheek gave a softer, more diffused application. If I angled it with the length of the brush vs width going upwards long ways vs wide on my cheek, the application was slightly less diffused and a little stronger. -It did work well with strongly pigmented contour powder and I got a very natural application that was diffused and blended well. I did have to build up the application with the powder even though it was very pigmented. It gives a diffused, natural, blended application and on some products you may have to build up the application. -It is a large brush, so it may not fit in every pan. -If you’re very fair like I am or struggle with pigmented contour going on too heavily, this brush does help with that and give a natural look and it’s a very easy brush to work with for easy application. -While I did like it for a cheek, forehead and nose contour, I think the area it really excels on is the jawline area. It does a great job everywhere, but on the jawline and under the chin area, it’s one of the best I’ve ever used, easiest to work with in that area for super light application and blending. It is due to the crescent shape and dense bristles. While I will use it for cheek contour and it works well, it won’t be my favorite brush for that. But it is my new favorite brush for jaw contour as it is the best jaw contour brush I’ve used. I do still tend to like a narrower contour brush that’s a bit smaller on my cheek due to my smaller face, but this one is still very good. -I did have concerns the shape would cause an uneven application or for some areas to be too heavy or too light, or it to show in the crescent shape. I didn’t have this issue or areas with too much or too little application, it was very even and blended well. -Be careful when opening it and getting it out for the first time, it comes in a softer style cardboard paper style pouch. Open it from the base vs top and don’t use scissors at the base or top so you won’t accidentally harm the brush. -When you wash the brush, I’d suggest using a gentle face wash (I usually use Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser) and be sure to tilt it downward during rinsing and washing to not get as much water into the base of the bristles and brush ferrule. I would never want to submerse or leave a brush in water. I like to take a clean hand towel folded up and set it on a clean dinner plate and dry my brushes that way. I remove the towel after about a half hour so my brushes aren’t sitting on anything damp, and let them air dry on the plate. Thoughts: -If you like the denser style brushes, you’ll like this brush. -Note that no brush holder, brush cup or brush guard comes with it. Read more
