In a world where more and more items are standardizing to the USB-C connections, these adapter can help you connect legacy USB-A cables to your USB-C terminals. Anker has gained a reputation for reliable battery chargers and portable power and it makes sense that they would offer adapters to connect to their devices. These are very nicely made with an metal feel and grey finish. Connections are solid and 'click' into place with not slippage or wobbliness. The charging speed seemed alright, although I have no tools to measure this other than what the batter tells me on the display and often that is guided by the battery and not this connector. I can report that I don't see any drop in performance by using these, although there may be some bleed. For the money, these are well made good-qualit, just what you need adapters, if you need these adapters, that is. Comes in handy to keep a few in your desk drawer, the car and in your backpack. I originally bought these almost five years ago when I upgraded to a MacBook Air that only has USB C ports. This was a problem, because most of what I needed to connect to my laptop was USB A. I am glad I found these, because they work great (even after all these years), and they don’t have cords or take up much space. I ended up buying them two more times in subsequent years, because I find it handy to leave them attached to gadgets I use often, so I don’t have to put them on and take them off all the time. In recent years I've been noticing a gradual shift toward USB-c, which is logical. I think my success rate of being able to plug in a standard USB cord without needing to flip it over is at about 30%. Even the guy who invented it says he wishes he'd designed it in a more universal fashion like the USB-c. Now when I buy battery packs, power banks, power strips, and even computers, they've all got at least some USB-c ports. Sure, they claim they have X-number of ports, but half of them are USB-c, and in order to use your older accessories with them, you need these adapters. Fortunately these standard USB to USB-c adapters by Anker work flawlessly. There's no discernible power or function loss in the transfer, and I love that I can plug one into my phone and use a thumb drive on my phone to transfer data or as an extra source for music and videos. I'm finding that while my newer computing gear exclusively has USB-C for charging and data, newly purchased "established products" like headphones and other accessories may still have USB-A terminations for data and/or power -- which in turn requires me to carry twice as many cables / wall plugs. I was and am VERY HAPPY AGAIN FOR ANKER PRODUCTS! These small adapters are exactly what I needed to be able to use the "plug in to talk with your accessory" small USB-A "dongle" (for lack of a better / less 1990s techie term) into computers which only have USB-C ports. Funny thing is that the accessory itself has USB-C for charging, so this was only needed to initialize the accessory for its first use and for its "smart connection" integrations into software triggers and such. The small form factor is PERFECT as I can stow the "dongle" with the adapter in the sized-to-perfectly-fit accessory case cable storage, so it's there if I need it in the future.
