Unfortunately this toy is not made of medical grade silicone. When I first got it out of the package I washed it with warm water and dish soap, but noticed there was a strong chemical odor like rubber. I tried washing the smell off but was unable to clean off the smell. Other silicone products that I've used whether in the kitchen or in the the bedroom, do not have a strong rubbery chemical smell to them like this toy does.
