The filters are very good for silt removal and fit the filter housings correctly. I have well water with a lot of silt and change them monthly. I have a 5 micron(primary filter) and a 1 micron secondary filter. I would recommend them. The water pressure will be reduced when the filters need to be changed. I change both filters every 3 months. Both filters are 4.5” x 10” size. I have not noticed any odor. I have my water pressure set at 68 psi. They work great as the first line of defense. 1 micron does the job. Just 2 of us. This one was used for about 11 months. I'll start changing them every 6 months or so. I'm in the sticks with well water. I do have a water treatment system (peroxide & salt) right after this filter. I also have the smaller filter 5 x 2.5 setup in our RV.
