This has a pleasant enough flavor, but most importantly, it healed these cracks I had under my bottom lip in the shape of my front teeth that were making it painful to smile, eat and drink after having them for a while. I believe it was caused by air leaking from my mouth while using my CPAP machine at night, which can cause very dry mouth and I was dehydrated at the time as well from medications. My pulmonologist suggested a lip balm and I found a tube of this Aquaphor that I have no idea where I got, but I started to use it and within a couple of days, the cracks were pretty much gone. I felt immediate relief though, even before the cracks healed because the stuff is so soothing and moisturizing. I was becoming miserable and this was like a miracle, the way I just happened to find it in my apartment and decided to try it. I suffer from Sjogren's syndrome, so my lips are dry 24/7. After years of trying various lip balms, I found this one at a Walmart and it was an absolute godsend!!! Applying it does not cause any sort of burn like carmax (or smell for that matter), and it's a very thick solution that lasts. The only critiques I have is that 1) I wish the tubes had bigger sizes, and 2) the price can sometimes bug frugal people like me.
