These pants are really nice. I'm 6'-3", 220lb, average build. I wear a 36/34 in almost every pant I own, and that's what I ordered here. Right out of the package they were very comfortable, fit well, though a touch long. I washed them in cold water and dried them on low heat. The fit is now perfect! The fabric is thick and durable feeling but super comfortable with a nice little stretch. Front pockets are nice and deep and comfortable. There's no way you're fitting a modern cell phone in either thigh pocket, but mine fits just fine in the back pocket. The thigh pockets are better suited to a knife or small pair of clippers, would be nice to see these a bit larger and more usable but no complaints. These are comfortable in the cold and block the wind well, especially with the double front. Great range of motion, modern, trim fit without feeling or looking slim. Looking forward to them lasting a long time, will be buying the coal color next. Get a pair, you won't regret it. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I’m a lifelong woodworker, mechanic, farmer and all around mean-to-my-pants guy. Granted, I’m not using these for climbing trees, but I have worn them for just about everything else and tl,dr: I absolutely love them and would recommend them 100%. For reference, everything in my life was either Dickies or Carhartt. Recently I noticed many more crotch holes in my Dickies than even 5-10 years ago, I’m talking 10+ pairs unusable within a couple months. Long ago (2010ish) I got a pair of Dickies with an uneven seam and after reporting it to customer service, they sent a free pair of the pant, a refund, and let me keep the current defective garment. That’s a bit overkill, but recently (2023ish), I sent them photos of the 10 separate crotchless garments (don’t worry, I wasn’t wearing them) and they basically told me, “sucks to suck.” Carhartt customer service is a bit better when their clothes failed me but ideally, I’d like the pants to just not fall apart from normal use in the first place. Then I see these Arborwear Cedar Flex pants pop on my radar. I bought the rust?/russet? colored pair some time ago which was a real hard decision… $100 for a pair of pants? That’s a really tough pill to swallow in my current financial situation but I figure if it lasts at least 3x longer than a pair of $40 Dickies then they’re worth it. I wore them HARD for about 8 months, on the farm, doing construction, crawling on gravel under cars, walking through brambles, having pigs use my shins as back scratchers, you name it (other than hugging trees with my thighs which seems to be the intended purpose). That brings us to this past Christmas when I must have been raving about them so insufferably so often that my girlfriend got me the brown and driftwood colors. She also thinks they’re my most flattering pants. I threw out every pair of Dickies and Carhartts with a hole in them and donated the rest that were still in a decent state. I’m that confident these three pairs of pants will last me long enough that I won’t need backups. I know they have another pant that looks a bit thinner which I’m excited to try for the summer. The Portage I believe? Specifically what I love about these pants are the reinforcements in key areas: heel, crotch, double knee. The pockets are also DEEP like you could hide a subway foot long sub in there deep. The cut is flattering, slim without looking like I’m trying to impress 20-somethings. Zombie apocalypse slim, like they’re tight enough to not get caught on a fence but loose enough that I can hop the fence to begin with. Only complaint I have is the lack of a change pocket because that’s where I kept my lighter and pocket knife on my other pants, but I don’t really care that much. It has a smaller pocket on the right outboard knee and behind the left thigh, so I just moved ‘em. I love this company and these pants so much. If I weren’t living paycheck to paycheck my entire wardrobe would be Arborwear. They’ve got a snapped hoodie which would be PERFECT for woodworking as I’ve seen folks almost loose a neck due to dangling hood cords. I’ve told every hardworking man, woman, and child about these pants from friends and family to strangers on reddit r/buyitforlife. I can’t say if they’ll last 20 years, but they lasted one hard year which is more than I can say for ANY other pair of pants I’ve ever owned. Bought a pair for my Finish Carpenter husband. His jobs vary weekly whether on a roof, building cabinets , up on a ladder, digging holes, painting , Sheetrock, chopping wood and yard work at home …well you get the idea. Whether he’s outdoors or indoors , he says these pants fit like a glove are flexible, tough , and move with him and are the most comfortable and rugged all at the same time. And they don’t PINCH! The cuffs fit perfectly over boots . He liked his first pair so much that he wore them every single day for a month ! ( we washed and dried them every third day lol) . $100 might seem a lot for pants on Amazon, but these are not some throw away asian fast fashion crap. These are strong thick and very comfortable. I will wear them a lot and I doubt they will wear out. I am 32 waist and 32 length and the fit is perfect. My only suggestion: gusset the crotch so that D-cup men like myself don't get bunched up. Great pants, would highly recommend. Nice and thick, but also kind of stretchy. Gusseting is great and pants are well made. I went for a size up, perfect fit for me is 30x30, so I bought 32x32 for a baggier fit which turned out great. Only just put them on, but it's almost impossible for me to find pants that fit me. My waist is small and my thighs are decent sized, and I'm tall with a muscular athletic build - almost 6'4" around 215 lbs, and these are like they're tailored. I got the 36" inseam and they're a bit long (maybe they'll shrink a bit after a wash/dry) but I'd rather have an inch long than an inch short. I can always hem them up. They are nice quality compared to similar Carhardtt's I have. They have a bit of stretch to them which is what I was looking for as I climb and the Carhardtts I have don't stretch at all and can battle with me a bit. I haven't used them in a tree yet.....I'm kinda dreading getting them all weathered as they're so nice I think I'll buy a pair or two just for casual wear.
