The Arena Long Hair Silicone Swim Cap is soft and flexible. It measures about 7-1/2” from top to bottom and 8-1/2” from side to side. When worn, it didn’t seem any different or feel any larger than other swim caps that aren’t specifically designed for long hair, so that may be disappointing for some, but it should accommodate more hair by stretching more and being slightly larger. The Arena website didn’t offer measurements for comparison. It’s easiest to have slightly damp hair that is in a braid or bun (no sharp pins!) and spread the cap with both hands from the inside as shown on the card. I didn’t like the way the instruction card, which was folded inside the cap, appeared to be oily or stained by the cap (see photos) and hope that a quick wash with soapy water was enough to clean that off permanently. I have long, thick, curly hair and have been looking for a swim cap. We have our own pool and I am in it daily. I needed something to protect my hair from all of the chemicals. Most swim caps don't work for me because of my hair. This one, though, is perfect. It stretches well over my head, it stays in place, and all of my hair fits inside the cap. This cap also is made well and will last a long time. It's easy to put on because of the stretchiness. If you are someone who has long hair that you want to protect from pool chemicals, I would highly recommend this cap. It does what it purports to do. Read more

The cap seems to be high quality, and it looks fantastic, I really like the plum color! However, it does seem to run a bit smaller that other caps that I have bought. Because of this it does make a nice seal that keeps my hair dry, but it also gave me a headache after swimming for a while in it. I believe I have a fairly standard sized head, and short cut hair, but it still felt really snug. Because of this I think I will be switching back to my old cap, and I cant recommend that anyone with a pony tail or larger head wears this as I think it would be quite uncomfortable for them. The construction is solid, and it feels like it will last a long time. Advertised as a long hair swim cap, my wife was initially skeptical—especially since she has thick, curly, mid-length hair that reaches the middle of her back. She often struggles to keep her hair dry while swimming, so I hoped this cap would be the solution. When I handed it to her, I got the "side-eye," but she gave it a try. After putting her hair up in a bun, the cap fit perfectly. She said it wasn’t too tight, and her hair had plenty of room thanks to the thoughtful design. I'd like to give this cap five stars, but it just seems a little on the small size to me. And I'm a female who's a little on the smaller size. This cap is supposed to be designed for long hair, but I'm not thinking that's the case. I've done lots of competitive swimming in my life, and I've used lots of different caps. I bought this (long hair) cap and a regular cap at the same time, both Arena brand. I'm really not seeing very much difference between them. That being said, I love these silicone caps and they wear forever because they're so thick, comfortable and made of good quality materials. Read more
