Massages the scalp very nicely. Feels great! Very thorough, all of the way down to the scalp because the bristles are extremely strong and, because they’re metal, feel somehow quite cool to the touch (while making contact with the scalp). Combs through hair smoothly; easily works through tangles. We like the small, compact size of it. Easy to pack for travel and doesn’t take up much space in storage and staging areas. Extremely strong and well-made. Has just the right amount of heft to it. Functions fantastically. Aesthetically, it’s “okay”. The brush area looks really nice (very cool, actually!) and is easy to clean. The back side of the brush (the part that looks ‘wooden’ or ‘wood-toned’ (says it’s made from beech wood)) made even the brand new unit look as if it was somewhat aged, as if it had been in the family for a while, passed on through a generation. That may be the intended style, and it doesn’t adversely affect the operation or efficiency; it’s just our initial thoughts on its level of prettiness. (edit: Ultimately, it’s ended up sitting on its back with the bristles pointing upward, so the comment has become unnoticeable.) Bonus: Also stimulates your skin. Lightly brushed the palms of our hands with it . . feels very nice. Can likely satisfy mystery itches elsewhere as well, with its surprising, multi-point scratching (and itch relieving) capabilities. Seems ergonomically designed to hold like a baseball with a right-handed grip. Feels quite native that way. When switching to a left-handed grip, turned the brush 180° (top becomes bottom) and managed more of a palm-directed brushing method/approach. (It was indeed a bit more awkward to use as a lefty than as a righty. If ambidextrous, the right-primary or modified lefty approach can be selected by preference.) The box recommends applying a serum named “To The Root” before massaging. We don’t have (or yet use) that particular serum, though did try it with some others. Seemed like application of the additive benefited from the stimulating actions of the (nickel-plated iron and copper) bristles. The “feels good” feeling continues long after using it too, as the stimulated scalp continues to “thank you” for the experience. Glad to have acquired this and we’ll make quite a bit of use of it. This little brush is designed perfectly to deliver an outrageously good scalp massage. It seems that every part of the brush has been thoughtfully created. I have other scalp massager brushes and none of them come near to performing as well as this one. To begin with, the brush feels good to hold. It fits in my hand nicely, and it is made of beech wood that doesn't get slippery when wet. So I can use it in the shower without the annoyance of the brush getting slippery and falling. It is easy to hold the brush securely while using the brush in the shower. Further the brush is made to fit snugly in my hand, and it is a good weight that makes it easy to hold. The bristles are iron and copper and plated with nickel. The bristles sit in a bouncy rubber pad. The bristles are firm enough to stimulate the scalp and loosen any debris but at the same time they are gentle. The bristles do not scratch at all. The tops are rounded off so the bristles are strong enough to stimulate the scalp but they will not cause any damage. The rubber pad is bouncy and it keeps the bristles from applying too much pressure on the scalp. I like using this brush in the shower while washing my hair. When I do this, my scalp feels so clean! I also have been using this brush to help massage a hair serum I use into my scalp. Not only does it help get the serum absorbed into my scalp, but the specially made bristles stimulate my scalp really well. However, I really feel that the best thing about this brush is that it feels so amazing when it is used for a scalp massage. It is so relaxing and it makes tension just melt away. When my scalp is being massaged with this brush, there is no way I could focus on anything stressful! I have used this brush to give a scalp massage to everyone in my house, and they all instantly loved it. This little massage brush is great for everyone! I think it would make a good gift as well.
