I was concerned about buying something this expensive from Amazon (I've always bought my Ariat gear directly from the website prior to this pair) but honestly everything checked out and the boots are a great quality (see unboxing video). As far as issues other purchasers experienced, I had no issues with the zipper. Common sense would suggest if you tighten the laces up to an ungodly tightness, the stress is put directly on the zipper and will cause it to fail after a period especially if they are being worked/ridden in religiously before the leather has time to wear in. Spend time tightening the laces to where you can zip up the boot easily. If you hear the zipper straining, the laces are too tight. There is a break in period for these boots (I walked several miles in them before the ankles finally softened). Now they are perfect! I got a size 8 (half a size up) so I could wear thicker socks with them comfortably. I have a pair of Ariat lacers (also a size 8) and they have a similar fit. If you're on the fence, buy them! These boots are very warm and comfortable, easy to slip on and go, and the lacing makes it quite adjustable. I have very small calves (15") and with these boots laced tightly I can zipper them up to a perfect, snug fit. Love them and receive tons of compliments. Read more

Expensive splurge. However, they look very nice. I got compliments the first day that I wore them to the barn. For a winter riding boot they are not bulky. They’re true to size and fit in the stirrups with no issue. They kept my toes warm in the 25 degree weather. The inside is structured for riding so the back in a little stiff but having worn them three days in a row that’s already improving. Read more

I received these as a Christmas gift. My first wear was to the zoo on a 32 degree day. My feet and toes stayed toasty, and I didn’t end up with sore feet breaking them in. My ankles were slightly sore where the leather isn’t soft yet, but after a few wears they are loosening up. I absolutely love that you can adjust the laces to your exact fit, then just use the zippers and leave the laces be. I wore them to the barn today for the first time and received a handful of compliments. I generally wear an 8.5-9 shoe, and really love my wide all-terrains. These certainly aren’t as wide as the wide all-terrains, but I am comfortable wearing them. I don’t find them any more narrow than a regular sized Ariat. I know other reviews on this boot stated it was narrow, but I don’t feel that way. Read more

I was so excited to get these boots as I love Ariat. The boots are warm, broken in easily, and are a much better length for riding [horses]. Unfortunately, I had them for a week and the zippers broke. The customer service was impeccable and I was sent a replacement pair in just about two weeks. Fingers crossed that these zippers hold out longer than the first pair, but overall very excited about my boots! Update: the replacement pair's zippers still suck! The right zipper has broke. Do NOT buy if you plan on wearing daily and using the zipper. Maybe try using as a pull on instead? The boots are still good, but golly, what does a person have to do to get a functioning zipper on a $200 pair of boots around here?! Read more
