Even trying the old-fashioned trick of putting an open container of regular baking soda in the refrigerator & freeze, the ice still started picking up "freezer smell." when I moved into my apartment the cleaners used some weird cleaning agent to clean the fridge and it left a nasty scent that can only be described as bleach mixed with mold.
