We wanted a bit smaller rice cooker, because our 8 cup cook up too much counter space and the bowl inside had the non-stick coating was scratching off with use. Yuk! I wanted a healthier option for my family of 4 adults that makes rice very often. I ordered this rice cooker and could not be more impressed! This 6 cup makes more than enough rice, it's cooks the rice perfectly and the 1 lever operation is very simple. Not having a non-stick coated bowl is wonderful and easier to clean, too. This medium sized cooker can cook many things and steam veggies, fish, chicken, etc.. while the rice is being made! It's cool! I love the size and fits nicely on our counter top, too. It's a little bit more for the stainless rice bowl and steamer, but I feel it was well worth the few dollars more. We love this price cooker and give it 5 Stars! Read more

Great rice cooker. Steel pot is solid and worth the purchase. Cooks white and brown rice perfect. Be prepared to scrub a steel pot because it is NOT nonstick but is a healthy option to coated pots. I have cooked rice, chili and a one pot rice dinner with vegees and chicken with no issues. We even tried a small pancake after coating the pot well. All turned out well cooked esp the chili which i was surprised at. Simple, takes up little space and cooker body is also metal. Good purchase Read more

Well made. Easy to use. The paddle included is the best one we have ever own. It’s sturdy, not flimsy like others. I really love the stainless steal bowl. The rice doesn’t stick and scoops out easily. This replaced the last one because the coating started to scrap off. It cleans up nicely, too. So happy that we bought it. Read more

Iv been looking for a non non stick, non glazed stainless crock pot/slow cooker for months. I decided on this even tho i don't eat much if any rice. I LOVE this little machine. Its the ultimate time saving multi taskers dream machine. I can put food in the top to reheat or cook while i am prepping othr items.. i can saute veggies in the bottom.. i can boil eggs in the bottom while steaming salmon, potatoes etc on top. I can put items on the top on high then do othr chores etc and in a few hours when i have time i can eat the cooked food. Not that it takes that long but i am very busy . Seems to make rice ok too. Iv made rice on the bottom with chicken and rice on top in the steamer....It reheats, cooks , steams and i find very easy to clean. It DOES IT ALLLL.. highly recommend.. Read more

I have had an aroma rice cooker of this size for a few years now. It's actually the perfect size for a person like me - I eat rice most days, often for just myself or for 2-3 people. My cheapo one started giving inconsistent quality and I was concerned that the heating element was going out or one of the wires was getting old. I could have just bought another cheapo, but this rice cooker looked so much nicer. No non-stick coating to flake off, shiny and sleek looking. Even though it cost more than twice as much, I sprung for the stainless steel model. **That was a MISTAKE!** The rice always BURNS and sticks to the bottom of the pot!!! I have been using this style of automatic rice cooker since I was a little girl and I have NEVER seen rice burn like this. I tried all the tricks - greasing the bottom with oil or butter, more water, taking the rice pot out the second it clicked from "cook" to "warm" - it didn't matter. Every time we went to serve the rice, we would lose a good half inch, and scrubbing it is a total nightmare. I assumed that the unit was running too hot. But I inserted my old cheapo nonstick rice pot and magically, the next time I made rice, there was NO STICKING, NO BURNING! It came out perfectly fluffy and the pot was just as easy to clean as always. I can even let the pot run on keep warm for a bit before I return to the kitchen and serve it up. The main reason I want a rice pot are for convenience and to allow my children to make rice without my help. If I have to babysit the pot and it STILL burns, I would do better to just use a regular pot on the stove. Then at least it won't make a mess or become a fire hazard. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. If others have had better luck, then Aroma is producing an inferior product with inconsistent quality. My experience makes me want to go with a different brand next time. I'm so frustrated at the money I wasted. Read more

This was a replacement for an older rice cooker because the non stick surface was peeling off. This rice cooker has stainless steel bowl and steamer, it does nice job of cooking rice. The first time I used it there was a bit of rice stuck on the bottom, it came out easily with a few minutes soaking in soapy water. The next time I greased the bottom of the bowl with a small amount of olive oil, only a few grain were left sticking to the bottom. I like that I can make sticky rice or fluffy rice with a minor adjustment of water amount. No recipes, a few charts for cooking times. There are plenty of recipes on many cooking sites. During cooking there is minimal water that spits out of the hole in the lid but I put a towel over the counter ( not under the rice cooker) to catch any water. My other rice cooker did the same thing. Overall I am happy with this rice cooker, I wouldn't ever go back to cooking rice on the stove again. Read more
