This mini cooker is fantastic, I love how small and compact it is. I've been using this for about a month so far and I've only made about 4 things and discovered a few things that I thought I could share with others. ***IT IS ALSO VERY EASY TO CLEAN*** 1. Rice - It cooks rice perfectly, it never spilled from the vent or anything. Make sure you wash the rice first before cooking! Also if you wanted, you can boil 2-3 eggs and it will be fully cooked when the rice is done. You do not have to make any changes when adding the hard boiled eggs, just make rice like you normally would. 2. Mac n Cheese - I use a box of Mac n Cheese from KRAFT and the first time i tried this, a lot of water and starch spilled out the vent. It was a mess to clean! However, I learned you are suppose to only cook the noodles for about 7-10 minutes. So that means you have to keep an eye on it. I believe the reason for this is because of how much water the noodles can absorb as this does not happen when I use regular pasta noodle that is not from a mac n cheese box. 3. Spaghetti Pasta - I can make about 2.5 cups of pasta, adding about 2 1/2 cups of water and throwing in a lot of pasta sauce till I feel is enough all together in one go. In other words, after I add water I also add the sauce too. It does not spill and cooks perfectly. 4. Egg Omelette - Throw in about 2-3 eggs and it cooks fine. However, you might want to add some oil unless you want it sticking to your pot afterwards. It was very hard to clean. Lesson learned, use oil before you make an egg omelette in the rice cooker. Other than that, it turned out fine :D. UPDATE 10/21/2016 5.Hard Boiled Eggs - I use about 2 or 3 eggs, fill the pot with 1/2 or 3/4 amounts of water. You do not have to submerge the eggs into the water entirely, it is okay if some parts of the eggs are sticking out the water. I wait about 20-25 minutes before turning off the rice cooker. Let the eggs cool, peel, and eat :D. UPDATE 3/30/2017 Still working :). UPDATE: 7/14/2017 Still works, not a single problem yet. Read more

I really like the size of this rice cooking. It does not take much space on the counter top and it can make the smallest amount of rice when we just want one bowl. It is easy to use and clean. I have used this for only 3 months, 3 times per week at most. The rice cooker looks as good as new but It is now broken. I'm not sure what caused it. It will not turn on anymore. I really want to like this and hope it can last longer. I'm going through warranty to get it replacement and hopefully the new one will work longer. Update! I got the replaced rice cooker and it is so much better. When I cook the rice, there's no bubble coming out from the top steam hole. I guess the last one I had was really an defected item. I have been using the new rice cooker for a few months now. It is working great with no issue. Changed my rating back to 5 star. Great customer service as well! Read more

One of the best purchases I ever made. I was tired of cleaning the regular size for rice that I would need to save over for later, and it would be slightly stale even if you added a splash of water and microwaved. I love rice and eat it almost at every meal, so it's completely different to have fresh rice every day. It takes a shorter amount of time to cook than the bigger ones, somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. I also use the steam to steam my face once in awhile, to clear out my pores. You can just steam water with it right there in your bathroom. I've never added essential oil or anything other than water, since I still use it to cook, but I imagine you can. I was a little dubious at first because of the price, however, once you realize that the switch from "cook" to "keep warm" triggers during the cooking process, you're good. You hear the thing click, and you know you have about 5 minutes until the rice is good. You can judge it easily by seeing if it's still steaming. (If steaming ceases its finished) If you leave it on keep warm for too long the rice can burn, I think mine started to brown a half hour after it stopped steaming, so you have to unplug it when you want it to stop cooking. Ultimately, the best thing for a soloist. 12/2019 edit: I still have the guy but I have noticed that I can't leave the lid to soak as water gets inside. It somehow ended up okay but I fear what the lid looks like inside. Eventually I will replace this unit but not yet I'm still brave (frugal). Its dried out now now and I'm very careful about washing it- not soaking- and it hasn't gotten liquid inside again. If you can't hear it splashing around in there it's probably fine. I have my suspicions on where the water gets in but its moot. I'm alive and this guy still cooks rice. In fact, I've made some really delicious ramen in this and other soups and beans too. One of my favorites is frozen potstickers in vegetable broth from gel concentrate and a couple leaves of hand torn napa cabbage. Once that gets heated up and the leaves get wiltyish, it's ready. It's a perfect light soup to end the day with or curb midnight snacking. (You can also make this in a mug with one dumpling, folks, it's such a simple snack)( I've got some recipes for cake in a mug too) (Ultimately what I'm saying is this guy is a pretty cool dude and will heat up/cook broths and oatmeal and bean consistency dishes and I only wish I had a spare pot so I could use it more often) Read more

This cooks white rice varieties without fail, and is perfect for making sushi rice. I can't recommend for brown rice as it never seems to cook it through. Only boiled over once, due to a lack of rinsing. Has never scorched the bottom of the rice. Included measurement cup does not equate to U.S. standard measuring cup and is required to properly load the cooker with rice and water. Instructions were over-simplified for a first-time rice-cooker user, in my opinion - basically measure the same amount of rinsed rice-to-water so as to not go over the fill-line. Takes approximately 30-40 minutes to cook a full batch which is somewhere between 1 1/2 - 2 cups U.S. Simple and cost-effective. Read more
