I bought this Aroma rice cooker primarily to prepare rice and soups, and it has exceeded my expectations. It's compact but has a good capacity for preparing 2 to 4 cups (perfect for 2 or 3 people). What I like most is that it also includes a steamer, so I can cook vegetables at the same time as making the rice. It also has a keep-warm function, so I don't have to worry if I get distracted or if the food has to wait a few minutes. 🔸 Advantages: • Ideal size for small kitchens. • Very easy to use: just press the button and it's ready. • Includes a glass lid, so you can see how the cooking is going. • Keeps the rice warm after cooking. 🔸 Disadvantages: • It's not non-stick, so I recommend adding a little oil or washing it immediately to prevent the rice from sticking. • The capacity may be small if you're cooking for more than 3 people. Overall, for the price (approx. $25), it's an excellent purchase if you're looking for something practical, simple, and functional. ✔️ I highly recommend it for everyday use. Read more

I have a larger, Aroma, rice cooker. Which is the only one you should purchase. This is a straight forward, no frills product. The size is perfect. I also used it for a Raman type product added the seasonings and it came out perfect. Just add a cup of rice, seasonings, water/teriaki/ soy sauce and start it up. I also add one egg toward the end of cooking. About 17 minutes into the cooking. Perfect meal without all the fuss!! Read more

Medical people are telling patients not to eat warmed up leftover rice due to what can be a deadly bacteria. For many years this just applied to restaurant served rice; now it is home cooked rice as well. If you are cooking for one or two, this is the perfect solution to avoid waste & the temptation to reheat it as a leftover. The directions are easy to follow, the cleanup is simple, and this provides a safe and healthy way for single serving rice meals for up to two adult people. I have yet to try the included steamer for vegetables. Everything you need in terms of measuring including a plastic server came with it. Read more

Unfortunately, this steamer is not the quality of my old one. Or the smaller one I bought years ago for my sister. Apparently they have what done so many have done, which is start making low quality and selling it under a name that has a good reputation. I bought this only because I wanted a smaller steamer because mine is a 10 cup. However this small steamer leaked around the edges of the lid. It took me 45 minutes to steam a few green beans. And by this time almost all the water was gone. I’ll just stick with my old big Aroma steamer. Read more

I've only just started using this -- so far, it's fantastic! The steamer time estimates in the cooking guide are a little off; I just had to reduce from what was recommended. The rice and quinoa (the 2 things I've cooked so far in the main compartment) have come out perfectly. I got this product because I no longer wanted to subject myself to microplastics from microwavable rice in a bag. First, I tried a more space-efficient mini rice cooker by Aroma -- only to learn when it arrived that the steamer basket was plastic. But then I found this model: It has an easy-to-clean metal steam basket, and a nonstick (Teflon or something like it) main cooker for the rice or other foods. It's easy to use and a great addition to a kitchen for one or two. Read more

I make stews with it. I steam veggies with it. And, the whole while, I keep in mind its size. In my context, I don't eat much rice-- but I do eat a lot of vegetables. It's handy for that, and it's handy for when I do want to make a reasonable portion or three of rice. It's not going to do much more than that-- I suppose it's worked for dim sum goods as well-- but it's a cute little device that fits in with our other appliances. Measure its projected size with a tape measurer if you must. Read more
