I played recreational tennis for a few years with different work leagues and took a break. During this time I spent a long period of time figuring out what Tennis shoe fit my style of counter punching the best. I ran a lot, did a fair amount of toe dragging, and wore through less premium shoes. I eventually found the Adidas Barricade to be a great shoe, but a little bit heavy and slow. Following this, the Asics Gel Resolution was the best mix of durability and stability without weighing me down. Recently I got into pickleball and had to upgrade my now old and worn down tennis shoes. I got the Gel Resolution 8s and thought they were still great shoes but the plastic outsole on the top was not my favorite although it worked well. As that began to wore down, I've picked up this shoe. It feels pretty comparable to the 8s and I still need to break it in more but so far it's exactly what I have come to expect from this line of shoes. Generally I like ASICS shoes but my issue has been how narrow they are. This tennis shoe from ASICS is no different and it's pretty narrow although I purchased the wide one. Since I had an ankle surgery, based on the reviews I thought this shoe would be much comfortable with good cushion for my Tennis game. The shoe itself is pretty nice, but I wouldn't really say this has much cushion in it. Regardless, I still wear this shoe for my games and need to get an insole to make it bit more comfortable. I play pickleball in these shoes 3–4 times a week, and they’ve been absolutely perfect. They offer excellent traction on the court and feel surprisingly light. I did go up half a size to 11.5, as ASICS tennis shoes tend to run snug in the toe box. That extra room makes lateral movement more comfortable and allows space for the sports insoles I use. Even without the insoles, these shoes are extremely comfortable and provide great support. At 6'2" and over 240 lbs, I’ve had zero issues—even after playing for more than 3 hours, my feet still feel great. I highly recommend these shoes. The colorway also looks fantastic on the court. While I haven’t had them long enough to comment on durability, I know people who’ve worn this exact model for nearly two years without problems.
