The leads are adequate length and typical quality for a meter in this price range. In my testing, this meter is accurate compared to my more expensive name brand meter. If you need a decent quality kit for home or hobby use this is a great affordable option. Set is quick and easy and they even include batteries. This covers all the normal functions a DIY homeowner, or light hobbyist might need. It measures AC and DC voltage, DC current, and resistance. The meter also has diode and continuity testing features. My favorite part of this meter is the large backlit display. A backlit display isn't as common as you'd think in this price range. Being able to read the digital LCD display in dim lighting conditions is a nice bonus. SIZE: This is a small, palm sized unit that makes it very portable It measures roughly 5-1/4 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1-1/2 inches high. The compact size and light weight make this ideal as a backup meter or a multi-meter for tool bag or portable tool box. My old garage/workshop multimeter wasn't doing so hot. The common needed to be between the 4 and 5 o'clock position to get a connection. Occasionally, it'd freeze up and have to be turned off and back on to reset. Needless to say, I was in the market for a new multimeter for the workshop. I have a pricey unit that stays at my electronics workbench inside. What I needed was an affordable replacement for the garage workshop and this set appealed to me. I was going to be making some additions to the lighting and power in the garage and on the patio, so I figured the NC tester might come in handy. The little carry bag is a handy addition. I have a habit of leaving my multimeters out on the workbench and am constantly fighting with leads that get entangled with everything. The bag doesn't get in the way or take up space like a case would, I can slide the meter in it and do a quick couple loops with the leads and slide them in as well. Problem solved. The multimeter itself is well built and accurate, when tested and compared on my workbench inside. The connections are tight and the dial clicks into each of the indents solidly during rotation. The leg or kickstand, has a fair amount of resistance to being swung out for use, which is welcome as I hate when models have a freely or easily swinging design that's always getting in the way. The one thing I wish this multimeter had was a capacitance test. However, that's a personal gripe that I was aware of and isn't anything to fault. The kit lists the unit as an entry level meter in the description and the majority of consumers buying an entry level meter would have no use for that feature. AstroAI makes plenty of other units that have this feature and I can always walk to the workbench to test if I need. Overall, this is a solid kit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a new home owner or anyone for that matter, that is looking for an affordable, reliable, entry-level unit that comes bundled with some nice extras. Read more
