This G-rated review will be quick and to the point. Astroglide seems to have always made some fine products and this one is no exception. Slippery, slick, friction-less, lubricous, and buttery. Works great, safe on toys, and the sticky factor rating is extremely low. All the fun you'd expect without the sticky and tacky you experience with cheaper brands. And, since it is water based, it eventually requires reapplication if you get "pokey"and take your time. The length of time between applying Astroglide the first time until you need to reapply for the 2nd time....well... Other lubes would require 3 to 4 applications over the same period. Cleanup is easy with as well. At first you think "wow...it's even slicker! This will never wash off...." And about that time it washes off clean, whether you're washing you or toys. Two thumbs up. It's me again, Captain Stede! You might be thinking "what does a 18th century pirate have to say about lube for toys?" Well you see, my boyfriend/co-captain Ed has this FAVORITE toy that we like to call "The Kraken." The Kraken has a lot of...lets say, crevices. All the little "suckers" spread around it are a place where lube can really build up and be hard to clean out. While regular astroglide is toy safe and works just fine, Toy Joy has a somewhat thinner, less tacky consistency. This product from Astroglide can be a bit deceiving at first. For instance, if used regularly without toys, it just feels like the original Astroglide. One might be tempted to conclude that it is just the original formula with a different label. But when you use it with toys as intended, it does make a difference! It is hard to explain, but it does something different to the surface of toys that it's not noticeable on the skin alone when toys are not used. It creates like some sort of "film" (for lack of a better word). I am not a chemist to understand formulas and ingredients, but it seems this lube just interacts differently with the materials used in toys - especially ones made from silicone - when compared to the original Astroglide. The longevity is about the same as the original Astroglide. So it dries out relatively fast (which is typical for most water based lubes). Read more

There is a smell to it that can be overstimulating for your nose and it makes me worried about whether or not it will mess up my ph balance.
