The media could not be loaded. I purchased a refurbished portable air conditioner at a great price from a local store. Once home I found out the warranty (not from the original manufacturer) was only 30 days, so I looked at the various Asurion protection plans, and found one that fit the product and price range and purchased it, keeping the email and a photo of the original receipt for the AC unit. Thirty four days later, in the middle of our HVAC replacement project, and 4 days after the warranty expired, the refurbished AC unit quit, showing the error code EH03 -- which is a problem with the inside fan motor. The local store's policy is for 30 day returns, but not even then if the item is used. So, I called Asurion since the product covered was not purchased through Amazon, and started the claim process. Well, it all worked! I had the protection plan receipt, the photo of the purchase receipt, I took pictures of the AC unit and the error code, and answered their questions. The next day I had an email that they had sent an Amazon gift card for me to add to my Amazon account, and it was for the full purchase price of the refurbished AC unit (less taxes). This turned out to be an excellent decision on my part to buy a protection plan for my purchase. Read more

We purchased a 3 year Asurion Protection Plan on a GE A/C and unfortunately it failed after 2 years of continuous use in Zone 10 weather. We went on line, found the information to query the Plan and in less than 10 minutes Asurion had approved a refund check for the full purchase price and $’s were back into our account.
