I just received my ASUS VP249QGR monitor yesterday and I am absolutely IN LOVE WITH IT! It came with zero dead pixels and everything looks amazing right out of the box (it also came with a DisplayPort cable which is great!). I have no idea why people have complained about the stand so much in their reviews because I think the stand isn't that bad at all. I have it sitting on a glass desk and it doesn't wobble or shake and it feels more sturdier then my old LG monitor/stand. You can always pick up a cheap $20-30 VESA mount on Amazon if you really want a new stand because this monitor does allow VESA mounting which is cool. Anyways, I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a great IPS monitor on a budget and also for gamers! I've been playing some Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Persona 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Code Vein, etc and they all look freaking amazing with this monitor. ALSO! This monitor tends to be out of stock a lot. I was able to snag one just by keeping the Amazon page up and refreshing every 15 minutes or so while I watched some movies and browsed the web. It seems to come in and out of stock a lot but isn't THAT hard to get if you want one. When I originally placed the order it said it wouldn't come in until July 11th (which was almost 1 month away!) but about 2 days after ordering it my shipment was moved up to 6/18 so I received it in 1 week. So even if the delivery date shows as being a month or so away, there's a good chance you'll get it MUCH MUCH sooner! Read more

EDIT from Feb 2024: Still using and loving this monitor! I've had this monitor for about a week, and I bought it to go along with my first gaming PC build, hence why I wanted a higher refresh rate. However, I also wanted it to be good for work and casual use, so I was searching for an (affordable) IPS panel, rather than TN or VA. And I am loving it so far! I have never had a monitor this big, and while I will say I'm not a monitor expert, I'm really impressed with it (especially for its price!) The picture is clear, bright, and has great colors. I've used it for gaming and the 144Hz is smooth and Adaptive Sync works seamlessly so far (I have an RTX 2060, so it is compatible). The only minor con is that the monitor shakes a bit, for example when typing on my keyboard or bumping the desk, due to the somewhat flimsy stand. But, if you plan to VESA mount it, you wouldn't have that issue. Also, be sure (unlike I did, initially) if you plan to use the DisplayPort that you manually switch the input, as it may default to VGA/HDMI and the image won't display. Overall, I'm satisfied with this monitor! And it has pretty good sound from the speakers too, in my opinion. Read more

I am using this monitor with my 16" MBP and am very, very impressed with it for the cost. The screen is incredibly clear, with bright, vibrant colors. The stand leaves room for improvement. Quite wobbly, and doesn't telescope. Again, it's good enough for the cost. When I am using Bootcamp for gaming, using a Display Port to USB-C cable allows for 144hz which makes gameplay much smoother, and really increases the overall experience. I can't believe I gamed for so long at 60hz. On MacOS the same cable allows for 144hz, though I do not notice any increase or decrease in performance during normal tasks. Normal tasks for me means a lot of Excel work, some photo editing in Photoshop, PowerBI work, and typical stuff- surfing the web, e-mails, etc. etc. My home desk is not very "deep", so the 24" monitor @ 1080p is very comfortable to look at. I found a 27" to be too large, finding myself having to turn my head left to right in order to see the edges of the screen. This thing is perfect. In a perfect world a USB port would be on the monitor, but alas, there isn't one. It'd be great to be able to plug in a USB hub or something since my Mac doesn't have any. It'd really help clean up some wires. Read more

I am replacing another 24" 1080p monitor-by samsung. a good mid range monitor that is more business orientated. worked just fine but i saw this Asus at the good low price , it was about $80 less than the monitor i replaced. So far this Asus is perfect, less than a week so far. it is brighter and manages motion on videos far better. did only one quick check on an older game i had handy Deus Ex and the difference is noticeable instantly. far better. the colors are very good in the asus too. offers many pre set under 'splendid' that range from very yellow to blue and clear as well as a custom option. lots of features that are only done by hand on the monitor. i did not know or care much. but i would have paid more to get the option with software and managed via the computer. i thought it might hve been. can not find it . no dvd came with this and no downloads available . it is available for double what i paid so i am happy with this model. i can use one of the pre sets and be quite happy. there is a large menu to select various things to control, alter and even set up a couple of pre set short cuts of my own. will add updates after months pass and hope the monitor is just like this for a long time. no dead pixels in case anyone is interested. i use windows 10x64 use the display port now, i did try the hdmi and have been able to achieve the 144hz refresh rate with either Read more
