I travel a lot and relying on just a laptop screen is really difficult for me, with spreadsheets, code and financial charts open at the same time. The Asus duo monitor are incredibly lightweight, I was surprised how light when I got it. It's also made of aluminum which feels high quality. The flip stand hinge is really solid and holds the monitor in place without any problems, but I am purchasing the 1/4" mount to raise the monitors higher off the desk. The quality of the screens is excellent, I use a MacBook Air M4 and I can have each monitor show independent screens as long as I connect both USB-C cables. It mentions that you. must connect the power cord to the monitor as well, but I have found that my laptop seems to power the monitors without the need for the power cable, but I would recommend plugging the laptop into power so that there is some pass-through. The monitor comes with a really nice zip-up carry bag that has a sleeve on the front to hold the USB-C cables which is very useful. You can easily pack the monitor in a backpack with your laptop without much extra weight/bulk. The only downside is the price, as it is a bit more expensive than many other solutions. However, this is built from aluminum rather than plastic, the bezels around the screens are very small, the hinges are good quality, the back kickstand hinges are also good quality, and the resolution of the monitor is excellent, so I suppose you get what you pay for. It also comes with a 3 year warranty if you register it with Asus, so that is a big plus in my book. Read more

Wow. This monitor was so light I thought I had made a mistake when I felt the weight of it, I wanted a quality portable monitor and it did not feel like it judging by the weight. I was very incorrect when I fully took it out and fired it up. Picture quality is crisp, it’s bright, and was very easy to set up. No need to plug it in, it is powered directly through the USB-C computer connection. I use this for extra space for document parsing, and use it for extra space to watch stock charts. This thing is perfect, it is exactly what I wanted. Well worth it and highly recommended. It even came with a nice Asus carrying case! Read more

Screen: The screen quality is great. Colors look amazing and can be adjusted via an app downloaded from the ASUS website. The screen size makes viewing content very comfortable. Sound: The sound quality from the built-in speaker is horrendous. Be in a very quiet environment if you want to hear anything playing from it. I recommend connecting speakers to the headphone jack or diverting the sound to play from the connected device (i.e. laptop or computer, etc). Functionality: Overall, it functions as intended. There are built-in settings that can be adjusted to your liking, as well as the app to further adjust the display. Be aware that it connects to other devices via micro-HDMI. There are, however, adapters if your device doesn't support that, though. The monitor also won't power on unless there is an HDMI signal being received, and for the sound to play through the monitor, you MUST power on the connected device BEFORE powering on the monitor. Durability: I haven't really dealt with durability issues that others have. The only issue I've has was the headphone jack not working on the monitor I purchased, but the 3- year warrant had that covered. Using the included screen guard as a stand doesn't work so well. It doesn't stand up well with the weight of the monitor, so I ended up purchasing as sturdier stand. All in all, it's a great monitor. Everything works great and functions well minus the poor sound quality. My main reason for purchasing this was portability and name, but there are cheaper and better alternatives on the market. Fantastic travel monitor. Worth the extra money to get the 17". I originally purchased the 16" but returned it because the stand did not work well. I also feel like the picture on the 17" is much better. I love that you can use a single USB-C cable to run the entire thing but I wish they would have included a longer USB-C cable. Still very pleased and would recommend! Read more

First screen was missing power supply, and bi-directional USB-C doesn’t work from PC, however USB-C strangely only works with a Mac intermittently. I spent two weeks with ASUS technical support and their solution was (too hard basket) and to send it back to Amazon. Keep your expectations low with ASUS support. Amazon Prime support have been excellent. Replacement screen arrived yesterday, plugged it in today and 1/4 of the screen has dead pixels and thin rectangular white boxes that flicker and scatter across the screen. Tried multiple computers PC, Mac and Switch and picture was a mess! This is an amazing screen when it works, however from reading other customer reviews and personal experience ASUS has a serious quality control problem here. Amazon are sending my replacement-to-the-replacement screen this week. Fingers crossed it works because Amazon Helpdesk initially said that they usually don’t replace an item more than once so it’s going to be a roll of the dice if I get a perfectly working screen.
