Bought size 10-12. For stats, I'm late 70's, 5'1, 150 lbs, heavy middle section, and just starting to pool swim after many years. I purchased the suit for tummy control and back coverage. Very pleased with how it fit me. I wish the tummy control was stronger but it does help. The back is great, hides all my problem areas, may be a little restrictive to a serious swimmer but works well for just lap swimming. The material is thin, suit may not last as long as other brands but for a heavy chlorine pool I hope it lasts a. year. For the price I purchased 3 different patterns so I had a fresh suit for each workout. Not sure what the description meant by long torso...the designs are cute and can help visually to hide problem areas. Suits have only been in the water a few times, took a bit to dry. Love this suit. Very comfortable and I love the look of the back! The criss cross straps look good and doesn't bring out any extra back fat you may have like some suits with certain straps. I'm a size16 united States made. And this XXL fits really nice. Not tight or ride up your buttocks! And I have 38 D bra size and fits great! Very disappointed in material. I ordered two of these swim suits because i like the design of the material. It fit me perfect. I have only worn it less than a month. I did not inspect it closely before using it. I have now found holes in material like moths or something chewed it. I don't have that bug problem in my home. Maybe thru transporting the suit.
