This dress can be worn to a lot of occasions because of its quality. It came in a timely manner, especially considering that I do not have Amazon prime. I am not very curvy, but this dress complements my body very well and it reaches the knees, which is my preferable everyday dress attire. I'm retired and hardly ever have a need for a dress, so I wanted a versatile one for those occasions that do suddenly crop up. I selected this dress in navy blue. I am 5'3", 130 lbs with a pear shape that is sometimes difficult to accommodate in a more fitted dress. On the model, this is a short dress, but it hits me just at the base of my kneecaps. It fit both top and bottom and is soft and comfortable as a nightgown. The fabric is light enough for summer weather, and heavy enough that a slip isn't necessary, but may be preferred for more formal events. I love the pockets -- big enough for my cell phone and a few tissues. This dress looks great with cardigan sweaters or jackets, a scarf or a shawl, or when paired with the right pullover top, it can double-duty as a skirt. It can be dressed up or down and worn with sandals, sneakers, flats, or heels. With appropriate accessories, it can be worn to weddings, funerals, office meetings, cruise ships, shopping trips, dinners or casual/informal parties. It is machine washable and line dry, and packs small so great for travel EXCEPT it will wrinkle when packed, so allow time to steam or dampen it and hang to dry.) This is my favorite summer style dress--I have about 10 different patterns in it. I'm 5'3" and 127 pounds and range from a size small to a size medium in these dresses. Over time, I've learned to purchase a few to see which one fits better because none are really made the same. This pattern in particular, I purchased a medium for the length so it hits my knee, but after some time have found the material on this dress has loosened out a bit and is gaping in the neck/chest area, making it a bit baggy on me. I typically wear a size small. But, the fabric is lightweight and breathable, but a little heavier than the typical cotton styles I normally purchase in this dress. The heaviness of the material could be contributing to the overall pulling/misshapen neck that's coming with wear. I don't think this particular one has held up as much as the others I've purchased even only after a few washes. I typically air dry these on a drying rack.
