I have a multi-cat household and bought 4 of these. For all of the functions you cannot beat the price. You can set multiple meal drops throughout the day and choose your portions. The measurements for the portion sizes are in the instructions. I choose to do very small portions a few times a day to give my cats a snack in between their wet food meals. I can also program in more feedings with larger portions if we are traveling or away from home. It comes with a lid that seals well, has a desiccant inside the lid to absorb moisture, a slot for 3 D batteries incase your power goes out, and a cool function where you can record a meal call that plays at each kibble drop. It seems well made and I like the look of it. You could probably pack it up easily for travel as well. I do have one thief of a cat who helps himself to everyone else’s food, so these feeders allowed me to program the timing to where his drops a minute earlier than everyone else’s and he is distracted with his food by the time the others’ drops! I wish the bowl part was a little shallower to prevent whisker fatigue but it is removable so you can easily replace that part if you choose! I probably will for mine. I appreciate that you don’t have to download a stupid app to use this feeder as well. Tips for setup: Put the batteries (if you choose to use them) and the USB plug into the unit before adding food since it’s on the bottom of the unit! When ready, hold down the lock button to unlock the screen, hold down the + button to switch it over to 12hr clock format, then use plus and minus to set up your times, portions, etc. Once complete, you will want to unlock the screen and press the ‘Feed’ button a few times to allow the wheel to spin the kibble out during setup. The cats love it too because meals are always on time! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable automatic feeder. As others have indicated, when you set the “Portion” size it’s always the same. No difference between Portion 1 or Portion 50, so my cat’s first feeding in the morning I set two schedules 10-minutes apart. I guess this is good as he won’t gorge and throw up his food. Also has a manual feeding button to dispense a single portion. To access this feature you have to press and hold the “Lock/Unlock button then press the manual feeding button. I love the audio recording feature. I can set a 10-sec recording telling him his “Mum mum” is ready. As I was setting up the recording he came running up to the feeder like Pavlov’s dogs and the bell. Nice feature. Audio playback disabled during manual feeding. Four instead of five stars because of the portion issue. But other than that I love this automatic feeder. The food hopper is well-sealed to keep our roaches and preserves freshness. Also included is a compartment in the hopper that holds a dessicant pack to help keep the dry food dry. Pets cannot get to the dessicant. This is such a nice convenience great for when you need to be away during feeding times for your pets. Battery back up so it will still function during power failures and will maintain your tediously inputted feeding schedules. Otherwise it comes with a usb-c power adapter and cable to operate it. Also uses three D-cells. I bought those AA to D cell conversion holders as who uses D-cells anymore? D-cells offer longer off-grid power usage but for the most parts you’ll be using household power to operate this feeder. Hopper and feeding bowl is removable for easy cleaning while the motor/timer/dispenser section sits on the floor. Word of advice, install the USB-C cable before adding food to the hopper. The usb port is under the dispenser. It takes three or four manual feeding runs to fill the hoppers dispensing mechanism so prime the dispenser with that many manual feedings. Read more

This feeder works very well, especially considering how much cheaper it is than some of the other options out there. Some people mentioned having trouble programming it, but I felt it was pretty straightforward, and there are lots of helpful videos online if you get stuck. Another complaint I read a lot was that the portion size was always the same no matter his you set it. This is simply a misunderstanding of how it works I think. Each "portion" size is one rotation of the scoop, so it's equivalent to the amount that pours out if you hit the manual feed button. If you set it for 3 portions, it will rotate 3 times and dispense the amount of a manual feed 3 times. So yes, you are stuck with how much comes out in one portion, but you can go up 8 times from there. I have not found a way to get the manual feed to produce more than one portion though. Perhaps that is what people are disappointed about. Either way I'm very pleased with this product. It is easy to take apart and clean, it's quiet, has a good sized resivor for the food, and I like that it has wired power as well as battery backup. I would definitely recommend this feeder if you're looking for a decent, fairly priced option. Read more
