needed to replace an old pill holder. I have another Auvon Pill Organizer but it is black. I saw this colorful one and thought it looked cute. Being familiar with Auvon I bought this one, and am loving it. A different color for each day, and they are see through, so you can easily tell if you have taken your pills for the morning or evening. The Black one is not as see through. Both are easy to fill once a week, to help keep track of your pills daily. It's the perfect size to hold several pills at once. It is made of good quality plastic, and the case closes well and stays closed until you open it. Even if it should fall and bounce on the floor, it won't fall open and spill all the pills inside. We tested that a few times on purpose and some on accident. This Pill Organizer is a great value for the money. We have been using pill organizers for years because it is so much easier than getting out the pill bottles each day. I really like this pill organizer because it has some safety features that some others don’t have and is easier to open than the ones with child-proof features. The individual compartments are nice and large to hold lots of pills. We have lots of big pills, fish oil, calcium, glucosamine, multivitamin, etc., along with multiple prescription medications and they hold them all with room. Each day is in a separate removable dual compartment inside a box that holds all the days together. This is great because if I accidentally drop the whole thing, which has happened more than once, the chance of both the box and the individual compartments opening and spilling pills everywhere is greatly decreased. Both the box and the compartments are easy to open and close but they don’t just pop open at a brush of your finger as the box we were replacing had done. I used to take my husband’s meds and put them in a small cup and leave them on his table so he sees them when he wakes up and will remember to take them. There was always the risk the dogs would knock into the table and knock the cup over spilling the pills. Now I can take the days meds out in the morning and put them on his table but don’t have to worry about them getting spilled because they are still in their little container. A huge win for us! I've used pill containers for almost 45 years and have used many different styles. I like this unit because the individual boxes while open will stand up straight in the larger container. It's easy to fill and compact/large enough for me. The individual days are great if you will be a away for the entire day. You can take with you an entire day of medication. The boxes are only half full with the amount of meds I take. I leave mine sitting on my desk so I do not forget to take them. The rainbow color boxes are fun and make pill taking not as boring. It's a nice enough organizer with good sized pill compartments. The weird thing is each case opens on the left side instead of the right. Every time I take one out, or pick it up to open it, I try to open the wrong side. It's annoying. I'm not sure if I'll keep it. Read more
I've been using pill containers (usually 2, so I cover myself for a full two weeks) for a couple of decades or more. I really like the convenience of filling my trays once every two weeks and having morning and evening doses covered. Much easier than opening a bunch of bottles twice a day pulling pills and forgetting a few here and there. With that being said, this product adds the perk of removable days, so if you happen to be gone for a day or two, you don't need to bring the week's worth with you. This can be a REAL advantage for certain people needless to say! I found the lids to close firmly with a "click" and the colors varied enough that they're distinct and easy to ascertain from one day to the next. Each day is labeled on it's respective container, so if they all fall out, or you're cleaning them, they're easy to put back in order. The outer, clear case is sturdy and closes firmly as well. Every tray I've used prior to this had the entire week encased in it without this unique ability to remove the individual days as desired, so I've become accustomed to this style. The ONLY drawback I can see with this set is that it's a little more difficult to easily pop open all the lids (AM/PM) at the same time, as the individual trays don't want to cooperate with this. Overall, if you're a traveler, or one whose schedule varies often and you're "on the go", this organizer offers you great options for taking only what you need. Particularly useful if you like to travel light. I like it. It's a bit on the expensive side compared to those I normally use, but if it will provide a benefit long term, then it's probably worth it to spend the extra money.
