I rarely write reviews, but I had to share my experience with the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Nighttime Itch Relief Balm because it has completely transformed my skin. For the past few years, I’ve struggled with a stubborn patch of eczema on my chest along with generally dry, irritated skin. I’ve been to doctors, tried prescription steroid creams, and nothing seemed to make a real difference. Out of frustration, I did some research here on Amazon, saw all the positive reviews for this balm, and decided to give it a shot. Within just a few weeks of using it, mostly during the day right after my shower, and the results have been incredible. The eczema patch that wouldn’t go away for years has finally healed and disappeared completely. My overall skin texture and appearance have improved so much. It feels softer, smoother, and healthier than it’s been in a long time. I truly believe this product has helped repair my skin barrier in a way that nothing else has. If you’ve been struggling with persistent eczema or dry, sensitive skin, I can’t recommend this balm enough. It’s gentle, soothing, and for me, truly life-changing. Read more

I have been on the lookout for a product that would equal to or better than Petroleum Jelly. I think I've found it with this product. I think this is the best lotion out there and can and should be used whether or not you have Eczema. PROS: 1. Once it goes on, it lasts for 2-3 days with only minor touch ups. 2. It goes on easily whether the skin is moistened or not. 3. The smell isn't overpowering 4. It's water soluble, so I can slug my body, but still be able to wash the palms of my hands so they don't feel greasy and gooey. 5. It's FSA approved! I like to stock up a year in advance. CONS: 1. It moisturizes differently than petroleum jelly. PJ, creates a barrier over the water and the skin. It's not water soluble. Aveeno Eczema merges with the water and provides a barrier that releases the water into the skin, like extended release. - If you're not careful, you can waste AE because the skin is too wet. 2. It's a little cost prohibitive if you're on a budget Read more

Broke out in hives last week coupled with winter dry skin and needed medicated and more hydrating balms for my arms and legs. I have mature (over 40), sensitive, acne-prone, congestion-prone, combination skin. But it is less oily in the winter. Earlier last week, I had a nasty allergic reaction to something topical and ended up with contact dermatitis that further evolved into hives. Been taking meds for it but the physical hot flares of hives and discomfort on my legs and arms have been a nuance especially when I am sleeping. I will wake to want to scratch at myself. Thankfully, the flares have been pretty mild but they still itch. I bought a slew of different lotions, balms, medicated creams, and ointments and nothing really took the edge off or hydrated as well as this tub of Aveeno Balm. I absolutely love the texture of the balm version of this as it is thick. Not sure what I can liken it to, but it isn't a lotion or like heavy cream. Nor is it like Vaseline or petroleum. I appreciate glycerine being the first ingredient over water. The slip of this is dense but the application goes on smoothly and is very soothing. I've only used it a couple of times in the last 24 hours since it arrived and it has made a significant difference in my skin. I will be getting this and having it on hand from now on, especially in the winter when the air, and consequently my skin, is drier. It is extremely effective and still gentle. It will absorb into the skin, but I layered it on kinda thick so I had a hint of residue when I went to bed. But I didn't rouse to mindlessly clawing at my legs, so there is that. Who knew oats and glycerine were so healing? I mean, I did but had no idea it would be this nice. It does have a scent, not added. I believe it comes from the oats, which isn't unpleasant or medicinal. Just bland, which is fine with me. I think this would be suitable for use on both body and face, as needed. Affordable. No frills. Effective. Read more

Relief, relief, and more relief. The viscosity is sublime; the way it spreads on is truly a feeling of instant calming to the intolerable itch. I purchased the Aveeno body wash, and these two, used together after the shower, are a phenomenon that works well with my and my family's skin type. Cheers to skin health with Aveeno Eczema Therapy. This is a very good cream but does have a greasy feel. But it does the job on my hives. This cream can be used on top of the Aveeno Baby lotion with prebiotic oat and Cerave baby lotion that I also use. Another product that I tried with colloidal oatmeal was less greasy ( iShanCare) but could not be applied over my after bath lotions without balling up . I was surprised. The greasy feel of this product eventually gets better as the cream soaks in. I find I use this preferrencially to the IShanCare. Read more

I bought the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Itch Relief Balm for very dry, eczema prone skin. The balm has a thicker texture than a regular lotion, but it spreads easily and absorbs well without feeling greasy or sticky. I really appreciate that it’s fragrance-free and steroid-free, since my skin can be sensitive. The colloidal oatmeal and ceramide combination seems to help restore moisture rather than just sitting on top of the skin. I’ve been using it on problem areas like hands, elbows, and legs with great results. Read more

I've been using this product for several years and it is one of the few products I've found that really works. Whenever I have any flare-ups, I apply this cream and I get noticeable results within a few days. Read more
