good arm. Supports my heavy 43" monitor well. No bouncing or difficulty moving it. The sturdiness of the arm is good. The mount has two desk mount options. I chose the clamp and works well. I didn't notice this before buying, but it has 2 USB ports near the desk surface, and they are handy. I run keyboard and mouse directly, but the extra ports are good for stuff you use temporarily or something that needs to be handy like a security key. It took a bit of effort to assemble well. It helps to have a set of ball-end allen t-handle wrenches. It would have been nice to have a mount that goes on the monitor, then some way to easily connect and disconnect from the arm. (even extra cost). This would make it easier to assemble everything safely, as the arm is beefy, the monitor weighs a lot and you have to screw them together while holding them precisely. The rotation was kind of loose until I disassembled the arm completely from the monitor and tightened down the 3 screws holding the rotating axis part to the arm. Then it was more solid. You can route the cables inside the arm, but you need a screwdriver to open and close it. Might have been nice to be able to get in and out of it tool-free. good arm. Read more
I got this to mount the Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor and it works just fine. Once you set the tension on the arm, it moves very smoothly. Overall construction is good and the mount does not feel cheap. It does have 2 USB 3.0 ports and sound ports, but I did not bother using it. There are 2 things to remember when assembling this. 1. You will need a second person when it comes time to mount the actual monitor to the mount. In many mounts you can screw a backplate to the monitor and then just slide it into the mount. That is not the case here. You will need to hold the monitor to the assembled mount and then screw the monitor on. Not the easiest of ways, but does the job. 2. There are cable management lines to hide your wires, but the covers on them need to be screwed on. Again not very convenient. I would like to see AVLT have snappable covers for the cable management lines in the future iterations. Overall, I must say this is a well made mount and I am happy with the purchase. Read more
If your question is "will this work with my G9" the answer is absolutely. It's more than strong enough to handle it. The only complaint I have is that I don't like the fact that the included cable management trays have to be screwed in. It looks nice once done, but is a pain to try to cram the wires in and hold them in place while trying to screw the plates in. I would have also preferred this arm in black, but the white matches the G9 really well so it works out in the end. One thing to note is that it'll be a heck of a lot easier to mount your G9 to this with a second person. I was able to do it by myself, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't swearing like a sailor while doing it. The one feature not on this arm that thought I would miss is the ability to swivel the monitor angle up and down, but so far I have yet to miss that feature. Even with a sit/stand desk where I'm constantly adjusting the monitor position, I haven't found the lack of this feature to be inhibiting even in the slightest. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and would gladly recommend it to someone who doesn't want to spend almost $400 for the "other well-known brand" that makes a G9 compatible arm. Read more
This is the one to buy. Yes, it costs a lot more money but it is, in my opinion, the only one that will work with the really big curved monitors. I have a 49 inch Samsung that weighs 34 pounds (feels heavier). After wasting hours of assembly time on several other monitor mounts that claimed to be able to handle this type of weight I bit the financial bullet and bought this bad boy. Upon arrival, I immediately knew this product might work. It was heavier and much better quality. I was correct. It supports the big Samsung. At first, I thought it was not going to do the job but I realized the tension adjustment is somewhat backward. Instead of “righty tighty” you need to unscrew the tension adjustment to provide more support. They have this clearly marked on the arm but be aware traditional tightening action will actually weaken the level of support. This unit also has a couple of built-in cables and ports. A nice touch. Again, if your time is worth anything don’t waste it buying those other poorly made Chinesium-quality monitor mounts. This is definitely a time when “Spend Once. Cry Once” applies. Read more
More of a pain to setup than what it's worth. Anything over 30lbs, good luck. Once I got most things tight, I tried to straighten it like a picture frame. No matter how tight, it will have slack on both sides but yet not go full 90 on either. The picture looked like you could go 90 degree angle. It wouldn't budge even 10 degrees and that's about as much slack as given. It held upright but crooked. The screws are placed in bad spots, hard to access them while monitor is on. Unfortunately if you have a heavy monitor, you'll have to spend more. I wouldn't waste my time with this again, especially at this price point. Very disappointed. Read more
This monitor arm is great. I wish the price was cheaper but it's definitely one of those situations where you get what you pay for. The arm is sturdy and holds my 32" LG monitor with ease. My monitors are both expensive and the last thing I need is my $800 monitor falling to the ground because the arm doesn't do it's job. You can adjust this arm in so many different ways and directions, that it will fit whatever scenario you need it for. I have mine mounted directly to my desk. This works great because there are 2 usb3 ports attached to the base of the monitor arm which allows me easy access to my computer ports. This is like the mother ship of monitor arms. I love it and would highly recommend if you can afford the price. Read more
