Adorable, squishy, and bright!
This little durian dude is super adorable. He has 3 levels of light which can be cycled through by giving him a quick tap on the nub on top, or a squeeze of his squishy durian body. The base and insides of the light are solid plastic, but that is mostly surrounded by an airspace and then the soft silicone body. On the underside is hard plastic where the base, switch, and charging port are, but overall it is put together in a way that makes it a soft, holdable, squeezable nightlight toy. It can be set on a shelf, or held in your hand, and I can easily imagine kids would love carting it around with them. The 3 light levels seem appropriate for a night light, going from a fairly dim glow to a soft but good amount of light that can illuminate a small area of a room. The bottom switch can turn it off, on, or use a 30 minute timer. In both the on and timer modes, tapping/squeezing will still cycle through the light levels - off, dim, medium, bright, but with the timer mode, after 30 minutes it will turn off and no longer respond to a tap / squeeze, and will have to have the bottom switch flipped off and on again to use the light. Personally I would have preferred the timer mode to shut off after 30 minutes, but be able to be turned back on and reset for another 30 minutes by giving it a tap, but I suppose the fully off after 30 makes more sense for using with kids, where they might be tapping / squeezing it, but you want "lights out" after 30. Battery life is good, and the usb-c port makes recharging the light simple. It is so nice not to have to replace batteries. This is a great feature for such an inexpensive item. Considering the charm, quality, and functionality of this nightlight, this is a great value for the cost. Hopefully this company will continue making these and come out with other cute designs in the future. Read more
