Using on a Xbox one, plugged in, and started loading games on it, did not have to format or install anything. Can’t speak on longevity yet but seems to work just as the seagate that I am also using in tandem. This does have a light on the front of it that changes color when it’s in use and a different color when in standby, I know some people are into the flashy rave party thing but I used a piece of black electrical tape to cover it and it blends in nicely with the body of the unit. This thing is heavy, so if we’re thinking it was going to be an oversized flash drive you are in for a surprise. It comes with a heafty thickness of usb cord and the power adapter, yes you will need a power outlet for this one. There is one switch on the unit, the power switch, located on the rear of the unit... be aware if you have children it has a very nice click sound when toggled back and forth... so if you think the unit has died check to see if the switch is in the on position first. I have no complaints about this unit, it is silent, it has a massive amount of space, it is simple and it just works. Read more

I am currently transferring games on to the hard drive, it is quiet and easy to set up. First port worked within 30 seconds of the device being plugged in. I have no review for how long the device will work for but plan to use it for the life of my Xbox Console. Pros and cons are that the 4TB space loses 400Gigs for formatting space and will only hold 3.6TB of your information. This is not specifically mentioned in the product description but only in the FAQ section and seems to be reiterated multiple times that it has 4000Gigs of space. Read more

Plug and download from there. I formatted mine, started downloading, then played games. It's a good solid, heavy piece of hardware and it feels good that way. I feel like it competes with Microsoft's software. No issues so far with glitching or bugs with this tech. A lot of people on here are saying the hard drive turns off when the xbox turns off. Well, if you go through the settings on the Xbox, you'll find a check box with on or off stating "Leave hard drive on when Xbox is off" so you can download large extra games when you sleep or at work. I love it! Will buy another for my other Xbox next pay day! Read more

I don't know if this is responsible for the speed at which data transfers to it (I'm not that tech savvy), but I was getting speeds as low as 5mb/s. It took close to a week of having my xbox on to transfer all my games over to this storage device (maybe 500gigs of games). 2 things I'm not super fond of about this unit is that 1: it needs to be plugged into the wall to receive power...my last external plugged into the xbox. 2: You have to turn the hard drive on and off by its own switch...my last one turned on when I turned the xbox on. That being said, it is a very nice unit, and I really like that it has some decent weight to it. I can't comment on the longevity of the unit since I've only had it about a month. I wish it was faster to transfer data too and from, but as I said...I'm not sure if that has to do with the external hard drive or not. Read more

Kids love it now that the games are on it. The Xbox is three times as fast and when they can download almost 100 times more of the games. Read more

Once you plug in your drive turn it out then turn on your xbox. It should detect it and start downloading. What I like about it is the ability to transfer all my games and apps that are on the xbox onto this drive. Some drive sare proprietary, so they make it difficult to transfer somestuff that is not native to the xobx on the hard drive, this is not one of those drives.. Transferring data from my xbox to the hard drive is just a slow tedious process. Over all I would say 9.8 out of 10. Read more

This is so easy to use, my 13 year old with autism can use this by himself- it’s literally plug and play and it comes directions “if” you need to Trouble shoot- which we did not have to- tons and tons of storage- just super easy and I appreciate that. Read more
