Only used 2 weeks, but works excellently. Had a few power outages and didnt hurt it at all... Now have ps4 and drive on battery backup. Easy to get started... Plug n play. Uses as if internal drive if plugged into ps4 directly or as backup if plugged into a hub. Read more

Me: Bought it for PS4 storage, tired of shuffling my games all the time with the tiny ps4 internal storage Pros: No formatting needing, 3TB as stated, plug-and-play, PS4 immediately utilized the device fully, no noticeable read/write deceleration Con(s): It was loud the first time I used it, but it has not done it since. Might not be a con for you, but it is bright blue and flashes when reading/writing. I don't like RGB and I have a dim room, so it's annoying. You might love it, but be aware. Product is as-stated, 3TB which is basically enough for every major game release in a given year plus some movies. It came with a short USB, so you might run into cord length issues (not that I have cord length issues of course, ladies). I was sure to follow the instructions and not just plug it in randomly. I doubt itd be an issue, but that means I turned on the device, plugged it into the PS4, then turned on the PS4. The PS4 immediately recognized the device and began downloads and updates to the device and it is clearly listed as "external storage" on the ps4 interface. Runs like a dream, and I have seen no noticeable change in downloads/installs. It is probably faster than my ps4, which was a launch day ps4. Okay, here's the part where I want ELECTRONICS PERIPHERALS DESIGNERS AND CREATORS to listen. Please, if you're gonna make bright RGB nonsense, give the adults the option to turn it off. I like this thing, but it has a Cyclops death beam of blue launching out of it. Games and movies are often played in the dark, so why do peripherals designers make bright, flashy things? I don't get it. That's the only real design flaw, but I had to put tape over the front of it, cause it's always bright and always blue. The other thing, and this isn't a real issue and seems to have gone away, is that it was loud once. The first time I used it, I downloaded some games to the device, and it had the scratching, hard-drive writing sound almost like an old-school scanner printer, the sound of an older device "thinking." It hasn't done it since, and it only started when I was downloading. Read more

This hard drive does exactly the job for far less than most other external drives. It's already pre-formatted for the PlayStation 4 so the only thing to do was plug it in and it was ready to put some ridiculously large games on it. I'm using the original 500GB PS4 so space is highly limited. Fortunately there were no problems here as I've already put a 70GB game on it and it immediately went to the external drive(as you can see in the photo). It was a sight for sore eyes to hit download on a game and not get the evil little message saying there wasn't enough free space and to go delete one of my three remaining games to make room, haha. It's a little heavier than you would think but it still sits on top of the PlayStation without issues and makes minimal noise, though it does have a soft hum to it for anybody who might be expecting silence. All in all, it's a great price for 3TB of extra storage and it does exactly the job it's meant to with no effort on your part, well...besides finding an outlet to plug it into in the nearby vicinity. So I'd say it's well worth the buy, especially over one that's double the price JUST for being more lightweight and compact. Read more

So far I love everything about it! Great price for the amount of storage. Only small downside I can say is the the size. It's definitely bigger than I thought. Read more

Very big external hard drive Gets burning hot quickly Very noisy and makes weird clicking noises You have to plug the hard drive into a outlet then plug it into whatever you’re using with another cord. Not to mention the cord that plugs into the outlet has a huge block that takes up a lot of space blocking other outlets. You’re better off getting a regular portable external hard drive that doesn’t take up so much space. Read more
