There seems to be a lot of varying opinions on how easy this was to roll out of the box with people resorting to hair dryers and hot water baths to get it to flex. I'm not sure what happened there with those folks. We keep our house like the arctic, and even with it sitting overnight in our cold house before I enrolled it straight from its cramped box in the morning, it easily unfurled. I just slid it out, grabbed it by the edge, and shook down. Now was it like unfurling a towel fresh from the dryer? No, but no heroics were required either. You can see from my pic, taken about 5 minutes after putting it down, only the lip folded under. Then after a few minutes with me sitting at my desk with my feet on this lip to flatten it, it seems to now be laying down. Nice thickness for the price too. It's made specifically for hardwood (not carpet, so it has no little grippers, so buyer be warned that floor mats are specifically made for either flat floors or carpet. To keep it slipping on carpet you need grippers, *You have no idea how many reviewers are mad at companies for not reading what they are buying's intended function*). I've had this mat for over a week now and love it! I haven't had ANY of the problems others mention in these reviews. It came tightly rolled up. So I unrolled it and re-rolled it the opposite direction. I let it sit like this for a few hours. Then I unrolled it and laid it flat on the floor. It was still not flat of course, so I put a heavy book on each end to hold it down. I let it sit like this overnight. The next day it was mostly flat, but still curled up along the edges. I put my chair on top and by the next day the curls had all laid flat... and the mat was perfect. My chair easily rolls on and off. What I like best is the mat is almost totally invisible. If you look at my photo you prob can't even see it unless you look very closely. One thing I should mention... I saw somewhere in the instructions they suggest putting the smooth side down. Horrible horrible mat!!! Don’t buy it! It took three people to even unroll it from the box. It was so tightly rolled. It did not want to be laid down flat on my carpet. My carpet is fine and it should have adhered to it just fine, but it did not! It is up on all sides. It won’t stay down unless you keep heavy objects on it. It is an impossible lousy product. I get my toes caught under the mat when I try to step onto it to get to my chair. Man does that hurt. Now, I’m stuck with this thing that has books around it and looks awful. Read more

As many reviews before have said, this is hard to roll out but my hubby and I go to unrolled and let it sit with weight on the corners for a couple of nights and it works pretty good. It does have some memory to it though and can make it hard to roll if you havent moved in awhile. It makes divets..... Read more

Nice chair mat. Our daughter recommended as she has the same one. Came rolled out but layed it in the sun on the driveway with a chair on top and it flattened out quickly. Stays in place on carpet! Read more

I got this because my daughter gets makeup all over the floor annd carpet and it was pissing me off. This thing keeps that from happening, so it does the job well. Wear work gloves because it holds memory from being wound tight in the package and the spikes will mess you up. lol. Read more
