Great camera, really great resolution
I don't know why some are complaining about connectivity and such. This is great. Download the app, turn the dash cam's Wi-Fi on (it has its own), connect your phone's Wi-Fi to it, create an account and login. There's a tiny learning curve to the app and you need to keep the instructions just in case you forget which button to hold down for something specific. To view and download your videos, you have to connect the cam's WiFi directly to your device's WiFi. Then, login the app and all your videos are there; front and back are separate videos. This cam solely connects by its own Wi-Fi directly to your device. It comes with its own memory card. I've used it to send a video to the cops, from my phone, of a seemingly drunk driver. I could easily see the guy's license plate, in the video, without any graininess when he was quite far in front of me. Since the front and the rear cameras record separate videos, I didn't need to send an unnecessary video to the cops. You can download one video or the other, or both. After downloading, I opened the video in my phone's gallery, hit edit, and trimmed it to show the portion of that specific driver. When you're done with the download, turn off the cam's Wi-Fi, the same way you turn it on, and you're good to go again. When I got a new phone, I didn't have to reinstall the app or remember my password, it was all ready for me on my new phone. Like I said, there's a learning curve. But once you learn it, it's extremely easy because it's just a dash cam app. I bought the parking cam with this one, but I don't know which electrical ports are which, and my husband STILL hasn't installed it for me. Grrrr I bought it almost a year ago. I don't need to see what's going on in front of me, so I press the second button from the left twice to have it show only the rear view. Sure it's small. But you can still see a lot and the videos are really high quality, that's all you need. My only complaint probably has an easy fix. For me, the setting I have it on right now is too bright at night. I'm sure there's a way to dim the screen, I just haven't looked it up because I rarely drive at night. So, I put my truck's secondary, smaller sun visor down to block it. I'm very photosensitive at night and where I live has almost no street lights. My number one suggestion would be, when installing, start with the rear camera. I started with the front camera and didn't give myself quite enough cord for the rear. So if I open my trucks rear door all the way, (it swings open) it'll unplug it. But, I know that the accidental unplug, by jerking, has never caused any damage to the plug and it doesn't pull on the camera at all. I didn't need to use the tool to push it under my roof's...seam? I was able to just shove the cord in there with my fingertips. My truck's "seam" does not continuously go from the rear to the front, so I wrapped some wiring around the 'oh-crap' handles above the rear passenger doors. I don't even notice it, it's not in the way. However, if you're concerned about aesthetics, you could probably run it around the top or bottom of the door frame. This is a great little camera.
