We have one senior cat who was losing weight. His vet ran all the tests, thankfully his liver and kidneys are fine but he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He has to take meds to control it. We got this scale to monitor his weight. We also just adopted a younger rescue cat that we'd like to monitor his weight/growth as well. This scale works very well and appears to be accurate. I like the hold feature where as soon as you can get them to hold still for a couple seconds, the display "holds" the reading so you can see it even after you take the cat off the scale. Even with a wiggly cat, you can manually push the hold-feature to make it save the reading. The tray is removable so the scale can be used for humans (babies through adults) as well. The tray conveniently separates into two halves so it can be stored back in the box when not in use. All in all, this works perfect for our needs and I highly recommend it. Read more

I have a love-hate relationship with this because it is accurate, but also always about 2oz off from the doctor’s scale’s reading. However, with that error being constant in consistency, I lean towards it being a difference in equipment. It’s accurate insomuch as I know it will always have that specific margin of error.
