I love these boots! They keep my feet warm, they are very comfortable, they are a sturdy boot. They do run small. I'm usually an 8 1/2 or 9 and bought these in a 10. I like to wear thick socks, or even 2 pairs and the 10 is perfect. I also have narrow feet and appreciate the way the inner part of these boots forms around my feet. Read more

I am very happy with the boots. There is some break in time. I normally wear size 6 but after reading the reviews I went up a size to 7. When I put them on the first time they felt too tight and I didn't think I was going to be able to wear them. I switched to thinner socks and went for a walk. The thick insulating padding inside the boot adjusted to my foot as I wore them. I walked around for an hour or so. The next time I wore the boots I was able to wear a thicker sock. The boots became more comfortable the longer I wore them. I am a professional gardener and wanted a warm boot to wear outside during cold days. The lower part of the boot is completely waterproof and mud cleans off easily but I wouldn't wear them in the pouring rain. I will wear these boots on days when it is cold and dry. I work in the pouring rain so on those days I will switch to my Baffin knee high rubber boots. But these boots were just what I was looking for. Something fashionable and warm. I love them. They are somewhat stiff and you wouldn't be able to run very far in them but they feel so warm! I also live on a farm so when walking through tall grass and weeds the fur trim on the outside will grab sticky weeds but they are still great for walking the dog through the fields. UPDATE: Still love my boots but when walking in very wet tall grass the moisture soaked through the boot at the seam line where the rubber and leather meet on the bridge of my foot. So the boots are very warm and I love them but they are NOT waterproof. I will have to wear tall rubber boots in the pouring rain or when I walk through tall wet grass. So these boots are more for dry cold weather Read more

These were purchased for a trip to Fairbanks, AK in February. I compared them to a few others, including Columbia Ice Maiden and Columbia Bugaboot. These have slightly less flex in the ankle but overall I can tell they will be much warmer in a super cold environment. They have a very thick sole and the inner lining is extremely snug, soft and warm. Trying them on in the deep South, I could not keep them on for more than about 30 min before getting too warm. Re: sizing, I normally wear a size 7. Based on recommendations, I ordered an 8 to allow for thick socks and toe warmers. With the removable inner lining, #1) I'm not sure those will even be needed but #2) I am going to return the size 8 and get a 9 to have enough room for extra socks and toe warmers, "just in case." So at least for me, I suggest possibly 2 sizes larger as the removable inner liner that comes with the boots is very thick. These are very comfortable, and I look forward to wearing them on my trip. Top reasons for giving this a two-star rating. 1. Baffin customer service is horrendous. Don't expect any help from them even for basic questions. 2. The shipper will require you to pay for return postage and print out your label. 3. As others have stated, the boot runs very small. Normally I am a true size 6, so I ordered a size 7. With the liner and thick wool sock I would need, this boot was just barely too small, but a size 8 would have been huge The boot liner does conform to your foot and stretch out a little bit if you wear the boots for a while. But it still was not enough for me to be comfortable and to keep my feet warm, because to keep feet warm they need a little bit of extra space for air. I ended up ordering a pair of Baffin Icefield Boots also in a size 7, and they are perfect for the high Arctic which is where I am going. Read more

Super warm; attractive and well constructed. I've had them for a couple of weeks now, in the most severe Boston snow ever experienced. I wear a 8.5 shoe, somewhat on the narrow side, particularly in the heel. I ordered size 9, which is the right length, but is a bit roomy, even with heavy socks. The boots kept my feet dry and warm through 4 hours of shoveling on a couple of occasions, and also when I had to trudge through slush on the streets. My main issue is that the ankle and upper part of the boot is pretty wide. The elastic strings to keep them tight are way too long: when I tighten them as much as possible, the extra elastic flings around. One needs to tuck them in. I don't think I could wear them for miles because they are so roomy, but they are absolutely perfect for shoveling and short walks. I have another pair of Northface boots that lace up the front and feel more like a moccasin on the bottom (no longer selling as far as I can tell), which are terrific for my narrow foot, but are not waterproof. So, the Baffin Chloe terrific for shoveling and the really bad slush, wet, cold, but would not wear them for hours around town because they are too roomy. Read more
