I’ve been using this shampoo for about two years and I absolutely love it. I have thin, straight hair, and frequently get split ends. I struggled for a few years to know what to use to keep my hair healthy and less dry. Whenever my hairstylist washed and cut my hair, it felt so soft and healthy. I asked her what she used, and she recommended Bain de Terre. After a month of using it my hair started feeling healthier and more hydrated. My Mom (who has thick and curly hair) uses and loves this shampoo, as well. We both don’t like overpowering or overly flowery smells, and so we enjoy that this shampoo has a fresh and fruity aroma. I also appreciate that it doesn’t make my scalp itch and that it doesn’t dry out my sensitive skin. It is a bit expensive but it is also very high quality so the price makes sense. I was introduced to Bain de Terre products when my hairdresser gave me a sample of the brand's hair serum. That stuff is worth its weight in gold! I imagined Bain de Terre's other products must be amazing too. The coconut papaya formula of the shampoo and conditioner sounded delicious and so I was excited to try it. First of all, the packaging doesn't protect the bottles from opening up and spilling the product everywhere. The other reviews about that are pretty spot on. They need to secure the pop-open lids somehow, even tape would be fine. I also recieved one new bottle and one older version bottle. Secondly, the scent... I could not detect any coconut. To me it smelled like papaya that had been sat out in the summer sun for a few days. Like sickly sweet, rotten candy. Maybe it's just me, but I've never been so turned off by a product's smell. I tried both the shampoo and conditioner anyway, hoping the scent would be lighter and more bearable after using. It was less strong on my dry hair but I still disliked it. The results, despite my dislike for the scent, were beautiful. My hair was so soft and moisturized without being heavy or weighed down. I kept running my fingers through my hair all day just enjoying how silky it was. Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming papaya scent, I did return these items, but immediately ordered the sweet almond scented formula because I'm in love with how well Bain de Terre interacts with my hair.
