Best $ I ever spent! Why didn’t I buy this when I bought my house? I’d forgotten instructions were posted on the item description and felt relieved to see it was so simple and fast to install! I needed a hand to keep it level when screwing it into the wall and it took us 24 minutes start to finish. I’ve been doing laundry, so immediately filled it up with work clothes to dry, I bought the dark one and it looks great, is very heavy and seems a quality piece. At first we thought we’d like more rings to hold clothes, but I like the space my clothes have as they’re dryinh now. No complaints. Good price, good product, durable, easy to use! I hope the inventor can retire in luxury! Here’s an update: we use this daily and it’s been loaded completely and then extended all the way and loaded all the way. It folds perfectly right against the wall when not in use. I wish I’d know about this when we were planning our laundry room. I have no idea why anyone would not be able to open this. It extends so many different ways and is so flexible and sturdy even loaded with heavy wet clothes were air-drying. As an engineer, I was skeptical. A moment arm of nearly 5 feet and anchored to the wall with a baring plate of only 8 inches. Wife loved the design, but I had my doubts. The packaging was superior and snuggle custom foam cuts. The finish is excellent. The design is straight forward and you DEFINITELY need to mount this to a stud! If you are going to use this in new construction, be sure to install blockers between the studs in the laundry room, bath, or where ever you want to install this. I had to find a stud and be sure to was centered over it. This was really the only limitation. I chose a stud that allowed the rack to fold against the wall between a door and cabinet. The install is clean and very sturdy. I tested it hanging a 20# weight with is rack full extended and there was noticeable deflection but the rack mount felt solid so was confident it could easily handle wet coats, jeans and any other heavy item. The clothes rack does just what it is supposed to do. It is compact, but unfolds to a fairly long clothes hanger rod. I have it in my small laundry room. It folds nicely against the wall when not in use. It seems to be well made and is of a heavier gauge metal than I thought it would be. There is a rod on the end that pulls out that extends the overall length. The hanger ships in two parts, one is the main folding arm and the other is a wall mount bracket. The bracket is, again, a heavy gauge metal (not sure what kind). Mine did not come with any instructions on how to assemble it, but it really isn't hard to figure out. All the hardware is included. There are, basically, 4 screws (socket head) that bolt the hanger arm to the bracket and 4 wall insert screws that bolt the bracket to the wall. Here is my only complaint that I see with the hanger bracket. The factory gives you 4 wall inserts to mount the hanger at just about any location you want. However, I believe that these wall inserts may be inadequate. The arm is so long that putting a lot of weight on the end, especially with the pull out rod, can create a lot of force (think of a lever) on the wall mount screws. I worried that these screws would eventually pull out of the wall. I have to say that I have not had that experience, but I think it could be a problem over time. Instead of using the wall inserts, I went to the hardware store and purchased some longer screws then used my wall stud finder to find where I have studs in the wall. I mounted my hanger near a door, so there is a lot of wood framing around the door. This worked out really well and the hanger bracket is firmly mounted on the wall. I don't think it will ever be a problem. One other improvement I made is to add 2 small stick on bumpers to the hanger arms at 2 locations. At one location, the hanger arm hits the wall when you stow it. The other location is where the folding arm hit the other folding arm. Both of these areas made a sound when they hit wall or itself. I thought it would eventually damage the wall or, at least, the paint. Adding the 2 stick on bumpers took care of the problem. Finally, not a problem, I wanted to mention the finish of the bracket. I believe the Amazon listing called the finish as "silver". 2 other colors were available. I expected that the hanger would be either chrome plated or nickel plated. It actuality, it is a painted gray color. with a slightly rough finish like, perhaps, it is a power coat paint finish, or the metal was grit blasted prior to paint, but I'm not sure. It's not a problem in any way, just not what I was expecting. The hanger bracket works really well. It pulls out, is able to hold the clothes, then folds away when not in use. We used to have a shower curtain rod (spring loaded) between the walls of the room and that looked bad. This is much better. I do recommend this product. It does what it's supposed to do.
