Pretty thin. That may be a good thing, or might not. They will keep the wind off your face, and maybe some dirt, but they do not keep your face very warm. I plan to use them for skiing on warmer days, but colder days will need a thicker one. Read more

I've never had a two-piece balaclava before and I really like them. I got a pair in black and white. They both fit me very well, covered the neck nice with enough length to tuck into a shirt, and were still easy to see out of. There's a thinner area over the mouth and it made it much better for breathing than other balaclava I've used before. It's also nice how easy it is to move the mouth cover up or down to clear your face. These are made of a nice light weight breathable material. I live in Hawaii, and was afraid they'd be stifling, but they're not. They breath well, and of course the white one keeps the sun from getting too hot on the skin. These fit easily into a motorcycle helmet as they're nicely thin, and because of that thinness, they also pack very small. The separate mouth cover also makes it so you can get the mouth piece up or down while wearing a full helmet. Can't do that so easily with single pieces. I haven't gotten sweaty in them yet, but they're made from a tech material I know is good at wicking moisture.
