Comfortable and warm with the black mask up. These is a decent size as it covers my and my wife's head comfortably. Th draw strings help cinch up any slack to make this tighter around the face. Where this falls short is the black mask section. While the description suggests multi-functionality it suffers when the black mask is in the down position under the chin. When this happens we felt like we were being strangled a bit as it restricted airflow. Other than this we will use when it gets really cold outside with the mask in the up position over the nose. I live in Northern Michigan where winters are still pretty real despite the way things have been going the last few years, in addition to this we have a quarter mile driveway through open fields on each sides and the winds are BRUTAL. Because of this I usually wear a large heavy hunting balaclava that I've had for over a decade. When I saw this I figured "Oh, that looks like it isn't super long and baggy, simple, and hopefully comfortable - and sure enough. After getting my hands on this, I'm kind of sad it didn't come during winter. Pulling it over it feels comfortable and warm, but it's not bulky which I appreciate greatly because I'm constantly looking back over my shoulder when plowing my driveway on the tractor, additionally it is super easy to pull this thing down into just a hood. Full disclosure, I received this item through the Amazon Vine program, but I try to always consider if an item is truly worth it or not when rating, because I hate people who give overly fluffed reviews because of a sponsorship or some other program. Priced at $20, I would gladly pay for this balaclava - it feels warm (enough to get me sweating even in our AC living room), it isn't bulky or restricting in movement, and I really like how easily you can "convert" the various wearing options. The quality of this balaclava is excellent—very thick and solidly made. Even though it hasn’t gotten cold yet, I can already tell it will keep me warm in winter. I really like that both the hood and the mask edges have adjustable toggles, so I can easily tighten or loosen for the best fit. The fleece material feels soft and comfortable, and it provides full coverage for head, neck, and face. A great choice for outdoor activities in cold weather. Highly recommend! Read more

Warm and soft, I was hoping there would be some extra room it fits my head, I am a small woman, probably would not fit a man or someone with a big head. It doesnt go down the neck as far as the photo shows and really isnt wider more narrow. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is probably perfect - for someone else. It isn’t my cup of tea since the fabric is very stiff so it doesn’t fit close to your head and the elastic cords stick out to the side. You adjust one side elastic cord to tighten the fit at the upper part of the head and, on the other side, you tighten the other elastic cord to adjust the fit at the nose. Unfortunately, that leaves the slack of both cords sticking out on the sides in a loop - something that I think could potentially be dangerous. This is the first balaclava I’ve owned so I don’t know if they are all this way, but common sense says that this setup isn’t right - guess I’ve worked in a hospital for too long and seen too many odd accidents… Read more

Fits good for a bigger head/ear size, and works great with a hat with flaps, which i would recommend if your using it while its snowing as it isnt water proof, but thats ok. I also have a decent size beard and it fits pretty comfortably. Got it for the up coming winter which I can tell it will definitly keep frost from forming on my beard. Read more
