I'm starting to build our winter wardrobe and I wanted to buy some balaclavas for everyone. I ordered the "JANHAVI Balaclava Windproof Winter Face Mask with Initials" because I thought the initial was a cute touch. Pros: - nice and fluffy - warm Cons: - the fabric is so "fluffy" that the initial gets lost in all the fur. - balaclava is only one layer, no inner liner. Overall the "JANHAVI Balaclava Windproof Winter Face Mask with Initials" was not what I was expecting. It's made up of only one layer of very thin fluffy fabric and it's so furry that you can't make out the initials very well. When it's on its warm but I haven't tried it outside in an actual cold day so I'm not sure if it will stand up to that test. I'm sure it would work out as a layer to another, thicker face mask or a hooded coat but by itself in the freezing cold? No. 3/5 stars. Read more

My wife really likes this. She said it's very cozy, soft, and warm. It's comfortable and looks much better than a traditional balaclava/ski mask. She also liked the monogram. She typically wears a ski-cap when it gets cold, but that leaves her neck and throat exposed. This will keep her much warmer and she can adjust the opening to keep the wind and snow out. Despite this being much warmer than what she normally wears, I suspect she'll still ask me to go outside and defrost/warm up her car for her on cold winter mornings. Read more

This is a cute, fluffy, soft balaclava with plenty of material to tuck into a jacket. If you do not tuck it in, the initial still shows nicely. There is an inside collar that, when worn down, adds an extra layer around the neck. Turn it up and it can cover your mouth and nose, and when the drawstrings are cinched tight, it can cover most of your face. The drawstring cinchers are metal rather than plastic, which is a nice quality touch. The only drawback is that I do not feel anything in the fabric that makes it truly windproof. It is warm and comfortable, but in strong or sustained wind it does not seem to provide the level of wind blocking I would expect based on the product description. Read more
