The material is lightweight, dries quickly, and feels good even on hot days. They also seem durable enough for hiking, yard work, or just everyday wear. One thing that’s a little different is the side pockets are positioned more toward the front. It felt a little strange at first, but after wearing them a bit I actually ended up liking it. Baleaf Black hiking shorts are really thin, but the material is really sturdy. It’s abrasion and tear resistant, water-resistant, 50 SPF and is very lightweight. There are 6 pockets; 1 zipper cargo deep pocket with an elastic loop above it for hanging items, the 2nd deep cargo pocket has a flap that’s sewn to keep your items from falling out. The 2 front pockets are cut horizontally and are also deep. The 2 back pockets, average size, are secured with a small velcro patch. The waist is loose elastic without a tie closure, but thankfully there’s belt loops because you will need them. The diamond-shaped crotch gives more room to move freely. My husband loves these. He goes on week-long hiking trips, so clothing that’s tear resistant, has SPF, is water-resistant, has functional pockets, is comfortable and rolls up small in his bag is very important. They have gone on 2 hikes so far and no damage has been done. They still look brand new. My husband is 6’ 220lbs and I ordered a XL these shorts are true to size. The standout feature for me is the hand pockets. They are incredibly deep, and because the opening is positioned close to the waistline, your items stay put. It’s a huge relief to know I won't be losing my keys or wallet while active. The fabric is thin and lightweight, which is perfect for airflow and quick drying in the heat. There is a slight stretch for mobility, though it isn't overly elastic. One thing to note: because of that comfortable looseness, you’ll definitely want to wear a belt if you’re carrying heavier items in the cargo pockets to keep them from sagging. These men’s shorts in the olive color are great and my husband really likes them. He wears a size medium and they fit him true to size while still being comfortable. One of his favorite features is the zippered pockets, which are really helpful for keeping things secure so nothing falls out whether he is working out or just relaxing. I’ve bought shorts from this brand in the past and wear them frequently. They have held up in the wash very well. So when I saw these offered I grabbed them. The green color is nice and they are very comfortable and lightweight. The only thing that might be a little better for a guy, would be to add a zipper. The elastic works fine though. They have belt loops for a belt or they can also be used to hang keys, etc from. There are pockets on each side. I needed a pair to fit a 32 inch waist. By looking at the size chart, it would have put me at ordering a small, but I knew that wouldn’t be right. I ordered a medium and that was the right decision.
